Light at the End

Okay I whined and then yesterday it seemed like maybe things would start looking up. For those who have heard of Jack Hanna I'm very happy to announce Jeremiah, me, and my mom get to go meet him. He is coming to town and giving an invite only show. j's PT gave us her tickets. I'm so excited! I have always had a love for animals and Jack Hanna is just one of those people who have taught me what I know. So I have another thing to add to my things to look forward to list.

I also forgot to talk about this weekend. Saturday was a Meet N Eat. In our hobby geocaching. It was with a friend of ours in a town called Chesterton, IN. It's about 2 hours northwest from here. The funny part is it rained the whole day and then at the start time and when we pulled in the sun came out. We had a very fantastic day. Jeremiah had a blast. I setup a tent and a play area for him at these events. My hopes are to encourage kids to come play with him. It works every time. Here is one picture I caught of j and his friends.

He also was given a special coin. Let's see if I can explain the geocoins first for those who don't understand. In geocaching we have these things called geocoins. You can get one made but they are like $500 for 100 of them. So needless to say not in our future anytime soon. Some people get these and then either sell them or give them to others. A gentleman gave Jeremiah one and started a huge never ending landslide it seems. People keep giving them to j. Now let me tell you j LOVES them. He even has them displayed now at the new house. I'll have to get some pictures to show. Anyway the Indiana DNR made a coin. My aunt and uncle work for the DNR so I expressed that I would love to have one. So a friend of ours told us to come to the Indiana Dunes Nature Center. We got a private tour and the coin. It was very cool. Here is a pic of j with his new coin.

Warning Whine Ahead

Don't say I didn't warn you this post contains some major whines. I don't want to hold it in though so it's coming out.

Do you ever have that feeling like "Can anything else happen?". Then you find out Well crap I guess it can. Then you think it again to find out yep another thing goes wrong. I swear my life is falling apart. Now we should be happy cause we are all moved into our new house right? Of course not. If only life was that simple. Now we have the task of getting the old house on market which means lots of painting and what not. Also getting the apartment cleaned and back to the owners by the 11th. Now could it stop there Nope. My mom had to attend 2 funerals in the past few weeks. Then after all that found out Betty and Fred are losing their jobs. Yep you read it right our only incomes are getting cut off. Done yet? Course not...I had a doc appointment today and found out I might be diabetic and a lot of other stuff I don't want to deal with right now. *sigh* That might be all. I doubt it though. Nope also mom's business needs to be closed and moved back to storage that needs cleaned before we can move it back. Oh yeah and also my grandfather (mom's dad) has to get his kidney taken out this coming Wed because a tumor. So the 4 night hospital stay and someone needs to be with grandma and blah blah blah.

See? Now normally I can look at the bright side of things. But come on....Where is a bright side? We have DSL? Yep one good thing. We finally got to swim in our pool for 5 mins and then was freezing cause all the storms and rain water made it cold. Still happy to have swam finally. I know I know smile and it will all settle down soon. It better please. I can't handle any more!

Survived Moving Truck

Well we have survived the moving truck coming. Talk about a busy day. They came to our apartment at 8:30am and we had to have everything ready. So really it was just pure crazy the two days before. Anyway they have moved everything heavy and a lot of boxes. So now thats done at least. I love the new house. We stayed there since Thursday nite. Only bad part right now No Internet! *gasp* How will I survive that? haha We were supposed to have dial up but they can't get it to work. So it's the wait till the 23rd hopefully to have DSL again. I'm going to call tomorrow and see if I can hurry up the order. So I ran over to the apartment real fast to do some cleaning and grab some email. I'm going into withdrawal. So as soon as I get everything back I will definatley be posting some pics of the new place. The painting is almost done. Just have our bathroom upstairs to do. Jeremiah's room is the brightest green I have ever seen haha.

Stitching news. I got a new model in the mail from Rosewood Manor. Haven't been able to stitch in forever but definately looking forward to starting this cute piece. It's another one that I am happy to stitch. I love her pieces. So maybe I can steal some time after all this unpacking moving unpacking sorting moving lifting cleaning to do some x's.

Work and Fun

Today we found out you can't have all work and no play. We started the day eating breakfast together. Then did some shopping. It's amazing how fast things add up. With 4 bathrooms to decorate and all the other household stuff we needed we all about died when the total was told. We was walking by the power wheels and this red 4-wheeler grabbed my attention. Jeremiah had a power wheel but grew out of it. So we had promised to get him something new. This one goes to 130 pounds and has everything he needs. So of course his Betty and Grandma just had to grab it for him. He is so spoiled. But you should see his smile. He loves it. While it was charging he had to do some work. We painted the school room. I guess it's a formal dinning area but it's j's school room now. So mom and him had picked out some soft minty green colors. Jeremiah had lots of help from my uncle. But he worked hard.

Then of course after working Jeremiah got to drive the 4wheeler around. He had so much fun. The 4wheeler has two speeds. The max is like 5mph. So that's just perfect for him. Fred was mowing the grass (for the first time) and Jeremiah was chasing after him in the 4wheeler haha. I watered all the plants. Plus I watered my grape vines. I found out that's fun cause I kept grabbing grapes to eat while working haha. I really really enjoyed being outside in my own yard. What a wonderful feeling. Our neighbor came out and said Hiya. Told j he must have the bestest grandma in the world. Jeremiah was smiling ear to ear of course. We tore out the carpet in one room and then cut it to put in another smaller room. It worked perfect. We had our first meal in the new house. We still have a ton to do but things are at least coming together. Busy Busy Busy.

Got the Keys

Wohoo We got the keys today. The house is officially ours. Jeremiah already took a box of toys to play with haha. Today we went there and tried to map out where we want our furniture and stuff. Then we got to meet the neighbors. I was so worried about them being nice people. I was blown away. They are all our type of people and I could just feel the connection right away. So that helps so much. Kinda funny cause she built the house and lived in it for 7 years. So when we joked about painting she asked which room. We laughed later and said it was like she didn't like our choice haha. Besides that she is great. I can see becoming great friends.

So tomorrow is a Meet N Eat. It's for our geocaching hobby. We all get together and eat. It's a great time. So we will go to that and then hopefully go shopping. We need to buy some paint and things that need in before we can move in. So basically busy busy. Thursday the moving truck comes.

Work Issues

So this week it's been hot hot with capital H. We have had heat advisories each day Tuesday through today. Mom decided to come home from Shipshewana on Tuesday. She works there are her outdoor flea market booth for those who don't know. She has her own craft business. With it feeling like 105 outside she didn't need to be out. Wed she didn't go either. Then Fred calls from work to tell him he is down to 4 days a week now. He works at a place that makes cement mixers. They don't have any orders and have filled all the orders they did have. He also heard rumors about them laying people off. Now that would just kill us. We live check to check pretty much. So hopefully things turn around soon. He tried to have a sense of humor about it and said At least he can help move now.

I haven't updated on Jeremiah lately. One neat thing has happened. Before the surgery the PTs would measure his leg straightness. He would be able to get to 45 and 55 with 0 being perfect. His PT checked this week and he is at 15 and 22. So that's a MAJOR improvement. Just from the surgery. So that makes us happy. He starting walking on a treadmill again. He looks so cute when he does that. I'm so proud of him. He is really excited about getting in the new house. He wants to swim in our new pool of course.

Stitching....What's that? LOL I haven't stitched anything. Been too busy packing and packing and packing. I finished that model for Rosewood Manor and just put everything down. It's killing me too. I miss it. I just might go relax and stitch for a bit. I deserve it.

Crazy Week

Wow it's been a busy week. Packing and Packing trying to actually be ready to get the house keys. Wednesday we went to Walmart and got our hair cuts. Thursday my grandfather had my 2 youngest cousins over to swim. So my mom, j, and me ran down to help out. They are 10 and 7. They are the type that never sit down. My grandparent's nursing home has a wonderful pool. So they all went swimming. I went in too to keep "control". Swimming for 2 hours and watching those kids about killed me haha. It was a nice time though. j had a blast of course.

Friday I went over to our apartment. I caught up on emails and relaxed with Fred. We've been so busy packing I just needed to relax a bit. Then Saturday we worked HARD. We hadn't really done much at the apartment so we started on that. Made a lot of progress. Then last night we had a party to go to. We had a very nice time. This is a group of Sigma Phi Epislon brothers. They are a fraternity that we had a lot to do with while Fred and I was in college. It was a very nice time. Fred is going to look into what has to be done to become a brother. He almost was in college but unfortunately his grades weren't high enough. Then we transfered. Anyway they have an alumni program so he is looking into it.

Today we went to Munice Indiana. They have this maze setup that has to do with geocaching. Fred and I had went through it on our anniversary June 2nd. Jeremiah wasn't with us though so we wanted to take him back down. Mom and Betty went along too. We had a blast. The maze is so neat. It's inside so the killer heat outside didn't affect us any. Then we grabbed 3 caches for mom to log. We had a fantastic time indeed. Now Fred is out getting Olive Garden Yum Yum. So I'm off to eat good food.
