July 13th Monday Update

What I remembered to post here??? Shock....Amazement haha. Let's see what I worked on last week. 4 WIPs.

Long May She Wave by Morning Glory Needleworks. Added 600 more to hit 1k added to it.

I have the 1st page finished now. Love it!!!

Santa's Secret is a Dimensions Gold Petite kit I got from my bestie Lisa...

I added 700 to it. This is Day 3 now...

Embers from Fire Wing Designs was Jeremiah's WIP Random Spin. I added 301 more to it...

So in love with that one.....well with all my WIPs haha.

Last up was Trust the Universe from The Snowflower Diaries. Love this one too haha. Now Day 11 on it...

Life update.....we made a big big purchase....

Mom's 2012 Dodge Caravan has 210,000 miles on it now and it's costing us too much to upkeep. So we found a beautiful 2023 Chrysler Pacifica. She has 69,000 miles and has been well taken care of. We go pick her up this coming Saturday. We did test drive her and she is ready for many many more trips ahead. So much space inside. Love it!!!

Okay have a great week ahead. Love yourself. Hugs. Good luck stitching all the things!

Mar 17th Monday Update

Happy St Patrick's Day. My little red head is happy to be Irish today. Let's see what I worked on last week.

Monday was a no stitching kind of day.

Tuesday and Wednesday it was time for my monthly 500 on Beer Dragon by Paine Free Crafts. I'm up to Day 119 on this beauty now...

Confetti so slower this time but 513 added for the month.

After that I picked up Embers by Fire Wing Designs. Added 250. Finally did some research on this one. I'm on Day 8 more...

The rest of the week a WIP demanded attention. Noel Gnomes or Noel Chez Les Gnome by Jardin Prive. English Translation Christmas Among the Gnomes. Nicknamed Noel Gnomes haha. Anyway I ended up adding 1,104 total!! Wohoo...

Flosstube 8 is officially live. We have 426 subscribers now! Wow!!

I leave Thursday for my Indiana Retreat in Southern Indiana. I get to meet several new people so that is exciting. Hopefully I'll have lots of stitching to share.....just need to remember to not talk too much haha.

Monday Update

Hey to all my readers. Hope everyone is doing well. I've still been stitching. Every day I put stitches into my Halloween Minis. Still working on the Mummy...

Just love those eyes. This one was chopped up on different pages which was annoying but I just did it in sections. As you can see I have one section left now. It's the bigger one though.

Yesterday I also worked on Embers. Do you remember this beauty?

#WitchyStitchy2020Trick2 Stitch with either black, orange or purple.

I'm using 550 for this beauty so this worked perfect for that. Here it was before...
I added 1 hour and 6 minutes...
There are some other fun Tricks coming up. I need to get them done this week. We are home this week and then Fred has Halloween week off. So back to the cabin we go. Can't wait! Maybe I'll be back before we leave for another update.

Have a great week! Love yourself. Love each other. Smile. Hopefully we all get lots of stitching time.

#24HOCS April Goals

Well it's a new month. Time for some new goals. Fingers Crossed I can make more progress than I did in March. We'll see.

I need to finish up my March 4 Bottles on 99. After that I think I will do my Easter blog hop/Exchange piece for Needlecraft Haven. Then I'll do the April Fairy. Sound like a plan? Sure hope so.

Here are the April 24 Hours of Cross Stitch Challenges I'm shooting for...

1st Challenge. Stitch for 24 hours throughout the month.

2nd Challenge. My favorite. The acrostic. Letters this month SUN&SHADOW.

S - Stitchonomy Critters SAL
Connection: S in Designer
Goal: Keep up

The new SAL starts April 16th. I'm hoping to keep up but we'll see. I hope the pieces aren't as big as the plants!

U - Winter Time
Connection: Unending Season
Goal: At least 24 minutes

I love Winter but I know a lot of people think it's a season that never ends. I would love to make more progress on this beauty.

N - NeedleCraft Exchange
Connection: N in Group Name
Goal: Finish

I'm going to stitch up this cute freebie. Go here to get the pattern. I want to use it for the Easter blog hop and for an upcoming exchange.

& - All I need is...
WIPGO Pick #24
Connection: Love & a Dog
Goal: At least 2 hours
I'm now 4 picks behind on my WIPGO board. It's okay. Just need to catch up. I need to get 2 hours on this piece to mark off this square.

S - Pizza Slice MH
WIPGO Pick #18
Connection: Slice of Pizza
Goal: Finish?
Another WIPGO pick. I would love to finish this up. I bet it won't take long.

H - Happy Camper MH
WIPGO Pick #25
Connection: H in Title
Goal: Finish?
Jeremiah and Mom collect camper things. When she seen this Mill Hill Kit it was a must do. This is a WIPGO pick for April.

A - April Fairy
Connection: A in Title
Goal: Finish
My monthly fairy is another cutie.

D - Embers
WIPGO Pick #11
Connection: Dragon
Goal: At least 2 Hours
This is the other WIPGO pick this month. 2 hours to mark this one off.

O - 99 Bottles
Connection: Oats in Beer
Goal: 4 Bottles
April's set of 4 bottles to keep up with my goal of 4 a month for a finish this year on this WIP.

W - Wish Upon a Starfish
Connection: W in Title
Goal: At least 24 Minutes
I would like to make a bit more progress on this one.

3rd Challenge is to fit my stitching into fun holidays that Jen has picked for each day of the month. World Party Day should be easy with 99 Bottles. Look Up at the Sky Day would work for Embers since the dragon is flying. National Stress Awareness Day is something we all need with the craziness going on right now in the world.

I hope we all find time for lots of stress relief and maybe that stress relief will be extra stitching time. Here's hoping we all have a fantastic April. I'm off to finish those pesky bottles from March.

Finish and Gifted Gorgeousness

I'm back with a finish...
(24) July 16th
Flip Flops Mill Hill Kit
2009 Spring Bouquet Collection
MH18-9104
Using Kit Materials
Stitched on Perforated Paper
Started Jul 13th. Took 3 Days.
4 Hours and 34 Minutes Start to Finished.

I used this one for the R on the July acrostic for the #24HOCS (finally a shorter way of writing the 24 hours of cross stitch monthly challenge thingy haha) Challenge since the flips flops have Red in them. Now 3 of the 10 letters are marked off. Next project up is Salt Water Taffy. I'm looking forward to working on it again.

Yesterday was the 15th so I'll also include a Gifted Gorgeousness update with this post. The idea of this fun blog SAL is for us to post things that we have received as gifts or are stitching as gifts. Stop over to Jo's post to see what everyone has shared this time.

Let me look back and see what I've been working on since the last time...

Adjust Your Sails was a gift from Bridgette my SAL partner. Here is where I am with it right now...
Here is what it will look like again...
It will be back out sometime soon. I put it on my acrostic as well for this month. The letter A just demanded to have Adjust your Sails after it. Bridgette has made beautiful progress too. I seen it on her Instagram...
I worked on Embers which was on gifted fabric from Heather a blogger who doesn't blog any more I guess. I sure miss her and her beautiful pieces...
I finished up Mom's Nautical piece for July...
She also will be stealing the Flip Flops to display of course haha. Okay now I'm off to work on Salt Water Taffy. Have a great rest of your week everyone!

June WIPocalypse

Today is the last Sunday of the month. That means it's time for a WIPocalypse update. The purpose of this fun blog SAL is for us to stitch all our WIPs before the end of the world. I think since I will never come close that it helps keep the apocalypse at bay. I do my part at least. For this update I like to keep track of what I've worked on and how many days I've worked on each project. So let's see what I've been up to my last WIPocalypse post.

Wish Upon a Starfish -- 4 Days
I hadn't worked on this one since January. Here is where I was on it...
Here it was after the first 3 days. Reached the bottom left of the pattern...
Then I made a bit more progress on the starfish itself during the Longest Weekend Marathon. Here is the zoomed in progress from that...
Nautical Year -- 4 Days
Started and Finished Mom's Pillow from Sand, Sea, & Cross Stitch...

Lizzie Kate Flip It Stamp -- 3 Days
Started and Finished my monthly set...
Adjust Your Sails -- 5 Days
Started this new pattern. (Exactly why I never finish my WIPs haha) Here is what it will look like when finished...
Here is my progress so far...
Embers -- 1 Day
Broke this old WIP out. Hadn't worked on it since July 2015! Got a little bit added to it.
Here is what it will look like...
Here is where I was...
Here I am now...
I also got work done on 17 different projects for the Longest Weekend Marathon. I won't post them all again. Just scroll down on my blog to read those 3 posts to see the projects if you would like.

Beach Ball Mill Hill -- 2 Days
I started this one during the Longest Weekend Marathon and Finished it up the 2nd day...

Cabin Fever Mill Hill -- 2 Days
One day during the Longest Weekend Marathon and 1 After to Fix my Mistake and make a bit more progress. Here it is now...
Free to Be Me -- 2 Days
One during the marathon and Friday at home and at the cabin. I will share the photo tomorrow on my Monday Update post. So come back for that if you want.

I've had 12 non stitching days. So that's not bad considering we've been busy with some fun things and cabin time.

Measi also gives us cool questions to answer...Question of the Month: Half-year recap:  How are you doing with your goals so far this year? I'm happy. I'm marking things off my list even though I'm starting new things. I'm the most happy with how many different projects I've made progress on. I love the variety. I also have been finishing a lot and not only that but FFO the pieces instead of just letting them sit in a drawer.

See ya next check in. I hope I have a lot to share with you again.

Monday Update

I figured I would do a separate Monday Update post since I have some other things to talk about too. I posted on Wednesday and showed you guys my progress on Adjust your Sails. So I already shared that. Thursday though I was trying to decide what to work on. My marathon was coming up and I had everything organized so pretty I figured I better not pick something from the papers in my tin. I looked through my other WIPs and seen this oldie...
Remember I got these gorgeous two pieces of tie dyed fabrics from Heather (Oh I miss her blog!) and then I asked everyone what I should stitch on them that would show the beautiful fabric colors. Our lovely Jo twisted my arm and reminded me of these gorgeous dragons from FireWing Designs. So I was forced to purchase two and they were the perfect fit because the fabric would show through just gorgeous. Here it was in 2015 when I worked on it last...
2015! How could I ignore this beauty so long. I worked on her for awhile and here is where I got when I put her down for the night...
I'm stitching her over one with two threads. I'm pretty sure the fabric is 28ct. I really need to actually work on this one more. Of course I say that with all my older WIPs don't I? Shush at least I love my stitching haha.

The weekend was fantastic. I had a blast participating in the Longest Day SAL merged with IHSW (International Hermit Stitch Weekend). Fred had a blast at his radio event. It was a nice time.

Now it's a new week. I hope you all have a great one. I'm off to try to decide what I want to work on haha.  Thanks for stopping by and following my craziness.

Embers Update

I finished the 1st page of 6 on Embers. I just LOVE this fabric and design. Only problem is when I work with one thread color I get bored quickly. So I'm moving to another project for a little bit. She will be back soon though.

We finally got our new tent in the mail. We decided to wait and purchase one we really liked rather than rush into it. So yesterday it arrived. Which is a really good thing cause we have our big camping trip next week. Now just cross our fingers for no big storms while we are gone camping haha.

Monday Update

Here it is Monday again. Thought I would pop in with a weekend update. Friday I reached the rocks on Selkie. So here she is finally with more than blue...
I literally said Wohoo out loud when I started the new section. What a not blue thread FINALLY?!? Of course the confetti stitching will slow me down but it will be so worth it in the end. Friday I also got exciting mail. My two FireWing Dragon designs that Jo forced me to buy haha. So of course I just had to start one. So Saturday I started Embers. Here is what she will look like...
I was hoping she would help show off my gorgeous fabric that I received from Heather and guess what...
It's PERFECT!!! Exactly what I hoped for. A gorgeous pattern but it's not covering up the fabric too much. I'm using DMC 550 over 1. The fabric is 28ct. I just LOVE how it's looking so far. Every stitch I just smile and Thank Heather for the fantastic giveaway she hosted.

I'm linking up to the Monday Stitchery Link Party. Stop on over to see what the ladies who check in have been up to.

Saturday our local festival was going on. Fred's Ham radio group walked in the parade. He offered to take us with him but being up at 5am wasn't something we wanted to do haha. But it was neat because we watched him on the TV since they televised the parade. Mom had fun going down to the festival to the flea market area. She found some goodies she couldn't live without of course. Jeremiah and me were just lazy. Felt good of course. Now it's a new week. Time to get some chores done. After these strong storms roll through. It's dark as midnight out right now at 10am.
