Apr 21st Monday Update

Hello readers here I am with another Monday update. Flosstube #13 is 27 mins from uploaded too. I am behind again on blog reading. I will try to catch up soon hopefully. First I must stitch all things.

Springo is still going on in Monthly Magazine Challenge so it's a little of this and little of that stitching still.

Monday I worked on Springo call for #20 which was Lady Liberty by Keslyn's. Added 100 stitches.

Tuesday was time for #29 which was Mushroom Gnome a Jim Shore Mill Hill Kit. Added 100. Then worked on the Lola Crow Birds SAL. Added 400.

Wednesday I worked on Springo #1 which was Patriotic Gnome Littles by Waxing Moon. Added 100. Only day this week for this one...

Then I added weeks 15 and 16 to the Peppermint Purple SAL...

Thursday Springo call was Lady Liberty again. Added another 113...

Yggdrasil got to come out after the Springo call. I added 600 stitches of 310...

Friday was Springo call for #19 Mushroom Gnome again. Plus 400 more on Birds SAL.

Saturday Mushroom Gnome was picked again even though I was so sick of it haha. Added another 100...

Sunday was #32 which was Forever in Peace by Sweet Wing Studio...

Plus another 300 on the birds SAL. Here it where it was Sunday morning and a close up of what I added Sunday...

Now I'm trying to scramble to finish all my April goals before May gets here. I have grand plans for my May Birthday month with at least 3 new starts of course. Probably more haha. Stay tuned.

Love yourself. Smile as often as possible. Stitch all the Things.

Apr 14th Monday Update

So last week everything went wrong with my flosstube. I ended up editing it 3 times so it was a very frustrating day. Then I went to do laundry in the evening. So I totally missed posting my Monday update. Then the week just flew by. But anyway I'm here now.

Let's flash back to beginning of April...

Tuesday the 1st I worked on Rainbow Dragon for Springo in Monthly Magazine Challenge FB group. That's going on the whole month of April and I've been enjoying it a lot. After the daily picks I worked on Along the Nesting Boxes by Jardin Prive to finish up the April section.

Wednesday was Mushroom Gnome Mill Hill kit for Springo and back to the Nesting Boxes. I also added weeks 13 and 14 to the Peppermint Purple SAL.

Thursday I worked on Patriotic Gnome Littles by Waxing Moon and back to the Nesting Boxes.

Friday Rainbow Dragon a Paine Free Crafts design was picked for Springo and I finished the April section for the Jardin Prive...

I just love that duck!

Saturday was Forever in Peace by Sweet Wing Studio. Sunday had the same piece picked so that was nice. Already on the QSnap

Sunday was the first day on the Extraordinary Birds SAL by Lola Crow...

I have till May 16th to get the frame finished. Loving it so far.

This week....

Monday was a blur. No stitching.

Tuesday I made up for it with progress on 3 things. Forever in Peace by Sweet Wing Studio, Lady Liberty by Keslyn's and the Birds SAL.

Just 100 added to Lady Liberty this time around.

Wednesday was Canine Quotes by The Scarlett House and When I think of Spring by Puntini Puntini.

Thursday was time for a new start on Summer Time by NY Dreamer and Colorful Eagle which was on my acrostic.

Started in the bottom left corner. It doesn't look like much yet haha.

Friday Canine Quotes by called again and back to the Birds SAL.

Added 213 to Canine Quotes this week.

Added 1,019 to the Birds SAL for a total of 1,619 now.

Saturday Rainbow Dragon was called and Colorful Eagle by Kitty & Me I took to my stitch day get together.

Sunday was Forever in Peace again by Sweet Wing Studio...

So lots of progress. I also got some haul from my stitching store and threads for upcoming May patterns for Mental Health May. Video is uploading now hopefully correctly if you would like to see those.

Have a great week. Love yourself. Find all the reasons you can to smile. I'll keep stitching all the things.

Sept 23rd Monday Update

I've been stitching like a crazy woman all week so grab a drink and let's go through it haha.

ABCingo is still going strong. Ends Wednesday and honestly I'll miss it. But don't worry I have already found a bunch of new challenges for October haha.

Monday Letter F was called. So Forever in Peace by Sweet Wing Studio. Added 200 for Day 15 on this one now...

After hitting my monthly goal I went back to the Halloween Quaker by Primrose Cottage. Added 226 for Day 3...

Luckily B was called Tuesday so I added 522 more for Day 4. The above photo is after the two days and 748 more in the lower right corner. As I figured I love the Quaker Primrose designs.

Wednesday Letter K was called. I used this as an excuse to start a new Kit. Mason Jar Lineup by Dimensions. I was talking to Jeremiah and said I was actually nervous to start this one. I have loved this pattern for years. I finally got it. Then I purchased a gorgeous piece of fabric for it. What if I started it and just simply hated it?!? I was really nervous. I laughed after 6 stitches and said I hate it. Jeremiah said Serious? I said Nope. I'm in love. Wohoo. Remember I changed out the white Aida for 32ct Jacks Rum Belfast Linen from Fabrics by Stephanie that I found at Always in Stitches LNS. I just LOVE how it looks. I can't imagine doing these first few days of white stitching on white Aida. I honestly probably would have hated it...

Added 372 for the first day. Love it!!!

Thursday Letter V was called so I pulled out Christmas Truck which is a Vervaco Kit. I hope to work on this one more this winter. I hadn't worked on it since Feb. Added 305 for Day 5...

Friday was the start of IHSW. I had a very lazy Friday. Letter S was called so I worked on Winter SAL 2024 from Stitchonomy. Added a wonderful 648 to it...

The top photo is before and shows the material color better. I finished part 4 so just 2 parts left finally haha.

Saturday we ended up going into town to Aldis and Meijer. It was fun but took away from my stitching time haha. Letter M was called so I used it for another new start. Mini Block Freedom from Hinzeit. This was my monthly planned new start that I pick one for each month before the year started...

Fabric is 28ct New Khaki Lugana and I'm using Week Dye Works Garnet and Deep Sea. Added 254 for Day 1.

Sunday was Letter D. I put 104 more into Mason Jar Line Up since it's a Dimensions kit...

Then I started the Autumn Line Up by The Trilogy in honor of the first day of Autumn...

Using 32ct Lambswool for this and the suggested DMC. So happy fall is finally here!! Last one of this set to stitch up. I want this one finished by Dec 1st for an entry into the drawing in Semi Sane.

So a wonderful 2,976 added this week. 9,296 so far this month. Life is slowing down and X's are sure being made.

No haul this week but I do have orders coming. Because I mean come on I need more patterns haha. Plans...Finish the ABCingo. 3 calls left. Today is R and I think I'm going to stretch it and work on Autumn Line Up because I'm really ready for fall to be here. L and T are left to be called. I have Luck of the Irish left on my acrostic for September. There was a new pop challenge in Semi Sane I would need 300 on an Autumn piece....easy Autumn Line Up. Then 300 on a character from a book or movie so The Mandalorian might pop out for that. This is due by Tuesday evening. Shouldn't be a problem. Other than that who knows. I hear a lot of yelling from my WIP tote but they yell so loud I can't tell which one is loudest sometimes.

I'm going crazy making plans for October. I joined yet another FB game group haha. This one we build a zoo which our stitches. Just basically report our stitching and earns virtual stickers to show off our items. I glanced around and they also have some other challenges like another acrostic so why not join that too haha. So I join and join and join and then get overwhelmed. This morning though I laughed and reminded myself to just enjoy it and if I don't get them all who cares? So I'm really happy this morning. I swear sometimes I just seem to overthink everything. At least it's fun thinking about my stitching haha.

I got all decorated for Halloween and I just love it. Life is slowing down. Bev is still doing okay. They went fishing again like the old days last week but it was still in the 90's so no luck. Point is they had a great time together though so that was the best. I just hope her health stays good. I do admit though I worry every moment the phone will ring with something wrong. So I think I focus on my stitching to hide. Fred (hubby) also is starting physical therapy for his back in October and I really worry it won't be enough for him to no longer be in pain. So please him send some spare thoughts/prayers to be pain free soon. Jeremiah is doing great. Playing his Xbox like a pro haha. My little happy kiddo and I love him for it.

Have a great week. Love yourself. Smile as often as you can.

Aug 26th Monday Update

We are off on another mini trip today but wanted to get my update in before we head out. Let's see what I worked on last week...

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday seemed to blend into one long day. I worked on Yggdrasil by Paine Free Crafts. I ended up with 340 added

Monday was Dashgo call 13 of 23 Too Heavy to Life Above your Head. Yggdrasil definitely worked for that. 14 was Cow and I have no WIPs with cows so just kept plugging away on Yggdrasil another day.

Thursday I worked on Enchanted Pumpkin Mill Hill Kit and added 255...

Friday call 15 was Bow & Arrow and again no WIP with that so I worked on Forever in Peace by Sweet Wing Studio. Added 381...

Saturday was a busy day. Sunday Dashgo 16 was Sampler. I have one piece with sampler in the title Christmas Celebration Sampler by Frosted Pumpkin so I added 300 to it...

Thursday a friend brought their camper over to stay for the weekend. Two stitching friends and one of their hubby's. It was a wonderful time. Friday the 3 of us girls went on a road trip to Noblesville, Indiana little more than an hour away to a stitching store called Always in Stitches. For all those who know me know how much I needed more projects. So I knew I wanted a piece of fabric to replace a kit Aida piece. Here is my haul...

4 new projects anyway haha. I just LOVE the saying on the Sweet Wing Studio. So perfect. The dark fabric is for the Mason Jar Lineup Dimension kit I got at the stash sale. I think it will look just gorgeous on the darker fabric. The top fabric is 32ct Vintage Country Mocha which I like to use on a lot of pieces including the new Halloween Quaker at the bottom so I bought threads so I could start this one pretty soon. The Quaker and the Mason Jar lineup are sure yelling loudly for attention so watch for that soon I'm sure haha. Like I need new starts haha. In the evening we sat on our deck and stitched. It was a lovely visit...

Saturday we did up 115 more freezer bags of corn. The girls had fun helping and each got some corn as a reward of course. They have already said they would like to do this again next year so I'm very glad to hear that.

Well I need to get off this computer and finish getting ready. I'll update you on all our fun next Monday. Have a great week. Love yourself. Smile as often as possible.

Jul 29th Monday Update

Hey everyone. Let's see what I stitched last week.

First part of the week I was finishing up my monthly challenges...

Monday I worked on Irish Blessings by Herrschners. I wanted 400 for this month for the I in Jetski in Magazine Monthly Challenge.

418 later still loving this beautiful Irish saying.

Tuesday I spun Lady Liberty by Keslyn's and wanted 400 on it for the K in Jetski...

407 added. Then I seen a new popup challenge in Fandom to celebrate 100 Days till Halloween. So I had to do that since I LOVE Halloween. 100 stitches was 1 point for our team on anything Halloween. I figured I would pull out Halloween Potions because it's been in time out for a little bit. But then I heard a soft yell from my stash project bag. I zipped it open and out popped this fun The Witchy Stitcher pattern The Witch is In...

I even found a perfect piece of orange-ish material in my stash I bought at my last retreat for $5. I got a fast 100 stitches in Tuesday evening. Then Wednesday I was so in love I finished it...

Finish 22
The Witch Is In
By The Witchy Stitcher
Fabric 22ct Fine Ariosa Light Orange Rust Zweigart
Threads Suggested DMC
Started July 23rd, 2024. Took 2 Days.
1,000 Total Stitches.

Of course the orange color of the material refuses to show up in the photo. Trust me it's cute and orangey haha.

Thursday was time for The Mandalorian for the T in Jetski. Goal 400...

Friday 2 challenges started. Olympics Instagram challenge and Fandom Dashgo. I'm crazy for joining both haha.

First prompt for Olympics was New Start or Something Started in 2024. First call for WIP with a stick or branch. Quick look at my WIPs and Yggdrasil works for both. So I got busy and added 202...

So much confetti in this section but oh it's beautiful. Saturday I switched to Forever in Peace by Sweet Wing Studio. The 2nd Olympic prompt was Something Patriotic and there was a pop up challenge in Semi Sane for Grandparent's Day. This one is perfect for that too because both my Grandfather's were in the service so I stitched this in their honor...

Added 508 to the right side of the design. That's the farthest right the pattern goes now. So just finishing it down to the bottom.

Sunday a new Dashgo call was called WIP with a dessert and I don't have one and I promised myself I wasn't starting new stuff just for the prompts. So it's Zero for my on that one. Which is okay with me. No stress just fun. The Olympic prompt however was Stitch Something Related to Summer so Summer Line Up by The Trilogy came out for the day...

Added 308 before bedtime. I really enjoy the prompt style challenges. Especially when they work together haha. I will be lucky every time that accidentally happens. The Olympics Instagram challenge only goes to Aug 11th at least. The Dashgo goes till Sept 9th.

Now to just keep it all straight haha. I swear that's the hard part. I scribble notes that make sense that moment and then I look back and think what the heck did I mean? LOL So I need to make better notes for myself. Duh future me needs to know what's going on.

Life update. Wow. Grab a cup of your favorite beverage.

Monday Bev's bloodwork went way low so she needed an infusion of both platelets and blood but she could do that here in our small town. Tuesday morning though she had a high fever so Dad took her to the ER in Fort Wayne. She was admitted because she had an infection somewhere and they needed to run tests. In the testing they did another MRI and found she had another stroke. Also multiple bad infections that jumped to treat. Friday she was moved to the ICU because her O2 levels went toxic again. Saturday they said the words heart failure because of water surrounding her lungs due to the infections. So they immediately began medication to treat that. In the meantime she was now incoherent and scaring us to death. Sunday afternoon Dad came home to do some housework and her sister was sitting with her and Bev finally woke up and spoke again. So they think they are treating her for the right things. This morning she has developed cellulitis but they say that's easily treatable. So hopefully she is on the road to recovery yet again after another hard battle.

Thursday evening I got a phone call from a family member trying to reach my dad and they couldn't get him. Well with everything I assumed he was asleep. So after multiple phone calls another family member was almost to his house. So I stayed home to wait and see if they could wake him up. He beat and beat on the door and was screaming his name and no answer. So since I have a key I went to go over and go inside to wake him up. We went out to our van and the battery was dead of course. So back to phone calls and after probably 20 mins of beating on my dad's house the person was able to wake him up. We all headed over to be by my Grandfather's side. It seemed it was time. I didn't know if I wanted to be there but everything in me said my family needed me and now I can say I'm sure glad I was there. Grandpa passed peacefully at 10:50 surrounded by love. We sat and told stories and laughed and cried together. It was really perfect. I sure hope I can go that peacefully and surrounded with love. My family is okay. They are thankful he is resting and no longer in pain.

So it's been a week. Feels like a month worth in one week. I am exhausted and sleep doesn't help. But my stitching is helping me if I can think straight and figure out what works where for what challenge haha. I really am enjoying these crazy challenges though and makes me feel like at least I'm accomplishing something when I can mark one finished and think Hey I got points for that! Little wins ya know.

I will breath. I will be okay. I will love myself. I will find reasons to smile. Hope you can all do the same.

Jul 8th Monday Update - Finish

Hey everyone. Hope you had a great 4th of July to my US readers. We sure did. Let me see what stitching I was able to squeeze in last week too.

Monday was the 1st so I decided to start my monthly new start pick...

I had a great day and added 802 stitches. Tuesday I added the rest 141 for a finish...

Finish #20
Mini Block America
by Hinzeit
Fabric 28ct New Khaki Lugana
Threads WDW Liberty and Americana
Started July 1st 2024. Took 2 Days.
943 Total Stitches.

After finishing that up I made some more progress on Summer Line Up by The Trilogy. 278 added Tuesday and 810 added Wednesday. 4 Days in now...

Mom would love the lighthouse of course. Thursday I picked up Forever in Peace by Sweet Wing Studio again...

I had 8 days into it. I picked it for a 4th of July challenge to see if I could get 500, 100, or 1776 stitching into a patriotic piece. I didn't know if I would hit the max but I did. Wohoo!

Info on piece. Fabric is 32ct Lambswool Jobelan with suggested DMC threads. 12 Days into it now. Friday I was very antisocial and hide inside to stitch haha. Added 912. Friday was only 181. Saturday I did 143 on the porch being half social haha. Sunday everyone finally left so I got 758 which completed the max. I actually ended up with 1,994 added. I don't know if anything famous happened that year haha. My Aunt put on Facebook that she really wants this one when I finish so it might be stolen haha. It's sweet she loves it so much. Just the other half to do now.

We didn't have a huge crowd for the 4th but it was still nice and fun. We did a bunch of fireworks Saturday night and they were wonderful. We enjoyed our time relaxing. We watched a few movies. Dad and Bev came into our cabin for a fun military movie. We also watched the new Ghost Busters. It was really good. Just a nice relaxing time overall which was very nice.

Bev went up to the hospital today and everything was okay for her round of chemo to start. So that's good news. Unfortunately my Grandpa isn't doing well so more stress for the pile. We are supposed to get hit with Hurricane Beryl leftovers Tuesday and Wednesday. Which we do need rain so I guess it'll be okay. Maybe 2 to 3 inches of rain coming. Hopefully it adds up in the pond. It's still so low. So trying to get laundry and groceries tonight so we can hide until it all passes. Hopefully that means stitching time ahead. I might work on the Pisces Mill Hill haven't decided yet.

Have a great week. Love yourself. Find reasons to smile.
