Pirate Dragon Update

Here is my update. I finished another set of columns. So yep that means 3,920 stitches in. Only a little 43,995 left. I'll be done tomorrow right? LOL This is the first four columns on the first page. I have to celebrate this or I will go nuts haha. I love it still. It kills me to put it down.

I also received another model in the mail. It should go quick. Another saying one. I like those. I just don't like pieces with alphabets on them. I heard there is one sampler that says something about I already know the alphabet haha. I need that one. I keep telling myself to put the Pirate Dragon down and work on something small for myself. I might get my chance. We are going to do a SAL (Stitch A long) in the yahoo group CSF. It's a freebie design that says Cross Stitch Forever which is what the CSF stands for. I think it starts Saturday.

So I think the plan is to put the Dragon down work on the model till Saturday. Then I can pick up the SAL and work on it till Monday. Sound Good?

Smoking Needles

No this isn't some new drug. Just been busy stitching finally. Yesterday I went to a local stitch in. There was 10 lovely ladies and we stitched the day away. Of course we solved all the worlds problems too. It always helps to fire me up and make me want to stitch when I get home. Luckily today we were only busy for a bit. Fred was working at a HAMfest so we went and visited and then came home. Instead of spending the rest of the day on the computer I actually stitched. I finished the model I had for Rosewood Manor. Another beautiful Bell Pull design. I always love finishing them cause then I know I will get a new surprise in the mail to stitch.

Then I was thinking of what to stitch next. I remembered I had a RR for my ILCS group. I have until Jan but I thought Dec will be crazy so I'll go ahead and start it. An hour later it was finished. Here is a pic.

I stitched July. It was so fast. Jeremiah is very patriotic so I thought I would stitch this in honor of his love for the country. Plus in honor of all the men and women that won't get to be home this holiday season. So after finishing this I'm commitment free. Until I either sign up for something or get a new model that is.

What is Geocaching?

So this weekend we had another Meet N Eat. Since I haven't really talked alot about it I thought why not. So first you can go to the Geocaching Website. It's amazing when you put in your zipcode how many caches are near your house. Try it and see. Anyway basically this is a high tech treasure hunting. You use a hand held GPS unit and find these things that people hide. Here is a picture of one we found Saturday hiding.

There where the red arrow is pointing is what we narrowed down to. The GPS gives you directions and tells you where to walk toward and how many feet are left. A "normal" person just walking by probably wouldn't look this close. But we on the other hand did. Here is what we found.
It's an Ammo can box. Full of goodies. If you take something you leave something. Alot of times it's little cute things from the dollar store. Jeremiah loves it of course cause we find lots of toys and fun things. I put the bouncy ball in and we took a little toy lizard. Then there is a logbook where you sign your team name. Our team is Treasure Hunting Family.
Then the local people have monthly get togethers. We have a local club called NEI-GEO North East Indiana. But we have people from all over. Saturday we had a Meet N Eat. Where yep you guessed it we get together at a resturant and eat. We have probably 50 people Saturday. Then the lady hosting it had put out 12 caches to find. We piled in vehicles and off we went. We had a few friends with us this time around. We ended up finding the 12 and a few more for a daily find total of 16. You get home and log these finds and you get a point. Right now we have 260 finds. One of our friends Saturday have over 5,000. Anyway they are EVERYWHERE. New ones are added daily so the fun will never stop. So that was my day Saturday. So next time I talk about geocaching maybe it will help to know a little about it. It's our fun hobby that gets our butts off the couch.

Where did October Go?

Okay now seriously where did October go? I must have fallen asleep and missed it. I bet you all think I died. I didn't. I'm alive. Just been so busy. So wow where to start...

We went to see Blue Man! The concert was awesome. For anyone that has seen them you understand. For anyone who hasn't....Why Not? Fred and I had seen them in Vegas when we went for our honeymoon. We promised to take Jeremiah as soon as we could afford it. Well they came to Fort Wayne so we just had to go. It's expensive but so worth it. It was j's first real rock concert. He has been to a play and a christmas special kinda thing but nothing like this. His little eyes were HUGE. During the concert they were giving away back stage passes. If you text messaged this number blah blah. Well we don't have that ability on our phones. So after the awesome concert. Jeremiah asks if we can go backstage. Now I get the fun of explaining No cause it's too expensive to buy those kind of tickets. We make a quick stop at the bathroom and when I come out Jeremiah has this sticker. Fred is smiling and Says Guess What? We can go back stage. Some lady out of the blue (get it?) came up to j and gave him a backstage pass. We asked around and Yep we end up back stage. Here are some pics.

As you can see they "sign" your face. LOL Jeremiah LOVED it. He never wanted to wash his face.

There is so much more to talk about but I have no idea where to start so I'll sign off for now.
