Last 2013 Finish

I was trying to get this finished for this year and I did last night. Love this piece! This is from Jan 2012 Cross Stitch & Needlework magazine. It's designed by Ursula Michael.

I was asked by someone what was the information on my Stash gifts. I should have posted that when I did the pictures. So I figured I would include it here just in case someone else would like to know too.

1) Hug the Dog by The Stitching Bear
2) It's 5 O'clock Somewhere by Stoney Creek
3) Snow Drifters by Stoney Creek
4) Dog Wisdom a kit by Bucilla
5) Free to Be Me by Val's Stitchin' Stuff
6) Jolly Snowmen by Joan Elliot and Imaginating
7) Lunar Trick by Mill Hill

I will start something new on new year's day. I'm kinda leaning toward the Dog Wisdom kit but we'll see what screams loudest when it gets closer. We might be getting some snow. I love looking out the window to see beautiful snow. We got this gorgeous dusting on Christmas day. We were opening presents and I looked up out the window and it was perfect.

Jeremiah's been having a blast playing his new Xbox One. We had an option to trade 2 of his new to Xbox 360 games over to Xbox One. Fred ran out yesterday to go do that cause we only had till the 31st. My Dad and step mom had also gave us all $5 lottery scratch off cards. Of course I didn't win anything. Fred won $10 but Jeremiah won $50!!! So Fred went and got his $ for that too. Jeremiah decided to spend it on another new Xbox One game. It was the new Lego Marvel game. I had heard really good things about it. Fred got home and then they (Fred and j) played the new Lego game for at least 2 hours. Haha must have been right about how good the game was haha. The new Xbox is crazy. It recognizes you with this built in camera. When Fred walked past to go to the bathroom it said Hi Fred and signed him in. Crazy new technology.

Yesterday we also finished our Christmas traditions by playing Dirty Santa. We normally do it at my mom's mom's house. Since we lost her this year we decided to continue it in her honor. She always loved us playing that game. So we laughed and had more fun. We also got our live tree taken outside. It only lost a hundred needles so that wasn't too bad haha. Sure loved having a real tree this year. We will definitely be doing it again next year we all agreed.

What a cute and colourful finish.

Sounds like Jeremiah and Fred had a good time. I'm glad that you've been able to keep up one of your mum's favourite traditions in her honour. It's a lovely way to remember her.

Congrats on the awesome finish Katie. I started that one I think this year or last and haven't touched it since.

Your finish is fantastic! I will definitely be working on mine this year. I haven't even finished the letter P from the first day I started it.

Congrats to Jeremiah winning the scratch-off $$$$!

Dirty Santa is a fun crazy game. You put presents on a table and play games to win them. We played cards (whoever had the highest won) and dice (if you rolled doubles you won). Then after we picked all the presents we unwrapped them. They we continued playing and stole from one another. This part makes it dirty haha. It's fun.

Great finish! Glad the xBox One is working well for your son. My hubby one as well, but we are waiting on a replacement from Microsoft since it wouldn't actually play a game. :( Hubby was very sad he didn't get to spend his week off playing games.
