Today we went to our last aquarium here in Carolina Beach, NC. Well I guess this one is called Fort Fisher. It was very nice. Really big! We found out they had a behind the scenes tour so we signed up to do that. It was so interesting! We got to see where they take care of their sick animals. We got to see how they filter all their tanks and what type of systems they use. Jeremiah loved it! It was so interesting and definitely a look into the aquariums we had never seen before. So glad we happened to hear about it.
The touch tank we had the most fun at had sea stars and sea anemones. The anemones grab onto your finger when you touch them! It was so neat. The lady working there said they are actually stinging us but human skin is thick enough we don't feel it. So the little anemone was actually trying to eat me! It was really a weird feeling though to pull away my hand and feel the tug of them pulling me back. Jeremiah wasn't too sure he liked them. He said something about that they were trying to eat us made him not want to touch it very much haha. It was another great aquarium. I'm so glad we got to see these two other aquariums on this trip. We've had so much fun comparing them and talking about what part of each one we enjoyed the most. We all agree if we lived closer we would become volunteers. Now tomorrow we move to our final destination Myrtle Beach.

That sounds so fun! I've touched a starfish, but never an anemone, so neat!
Very cool! The first picture is great I can only imagine how big a dinner the crab could have been lol!
Behind the scenes visits are always an eye-opener as to how a place actually works. And you've made me think - just how do sea creatures get sick?
I'm so glad you both had another fantastic day and, as always, safe journey tomorrow. :)
Sounds like another fun day! Enjoy yourselves tomorrow and safe trip x
You visited 3 great aquariums - lots of special memories to take home.
Safe travels and enjoy Myrtle Beach.
Sounds like you really had a great time :)
