We had a nice even though it was busy weekend. Izzy's vet appointment went fine. Her leg where she got surgery a few years ago is finally building up more leg muscle so that will help but she will always have arthritis to deal with. She put on some weight over the winter but he laughed and said every dog they saw that day had haha. So time for Spring weight loss. I took my pieces to be framed and the guy who frames them picked out the perfect frames so I can't wait to get them back to show off. I made it out of the store with only buying two threads I needed. I told my hubby don't even let me look at anything else haha. Sunday we went down to my families and had a little bday party for my Grandpa. Here is the cake they made for him...
He loved it! We had the normal cake too haha. It was a great visit and my side hurt from all the laughing we did. Here it is the start to another week. We need to get ready for Spring and put away our snowman decorations. This coming weekend is International Hermit Stitch Weekend and I'm going to start Aquatic Maiden from Tilton Crafts finally!! She is ready and waiting. I don't know what I'm going to work on till then. I was thinking of some older pieces so I can justify the new start haha. I'll be back in a few days to share. Hope everyone has a great week!

Woohoo! Another beautiful finish and another one to cross off your WP list. Good luck with choosing the "something else" to work on until the weekend when you start on Aquatic Maiden. :)
Gorgeous! Can't wait to see your framed projects too!
Great finish! Very exciting to have pieces out at the framers and I hope you get them back soon. Lots of choice to work on until the weekend and glad the Birthday was a success.
Love the colours, looks beautiful
Congrats on another cute finish Katie and I love the cake.

Such a pretty finish, delicious looking thread you used for it.
Family time is always so precious, birthday wishes to the birthday boy!
Making it out of the store with only 2 threads is quite an achievement for any stitcher! The Blackwork piece is stunning. Enjoy choosing something to keep you occupied before you start aquatic maiden.
What a beautiful finish! I love the variegated floss you used. I am glad Izzy is doing well. The birthday party sounds wonderful. Way to go - only buying 2 threads. (I drove past a Michael's and a Jo-Ann Fabric store today and was in the vicinity of 2 quilt stores and talked myself out of stopping at any of them. That's not always easy when you're in a town you don't normally visit!)
Gorgeous finish.
Oh, I love your pretty finish! The variegated thread colours are just gorgeous :o)
Love that cake!!
Good to hear the Izzy is ok.... Spring always makes everyone feel good I think! The thought of the sun coming out and warming everything up is such a wonderful delicious thought to have! :o)
Hugs x
Lovely finish and I love the cake. Marvelous idea.

What a delicious cake for your Grandpa, lol. A fantastic gift.
Such a pretty finish! I like your grandpa's cake, you obviously all have a good sense of humour. I don't think you should be allowed a new start until you have finished Hope!
Katie, I love that piece. The variegated floss is beautiful.
Congrats on a lovely finish!
