Vacation Day # 4

Today is my mom's birthday. We decided to explore Ashland, WI today. I treated mom to our hotel free breakfast to start her birthday celebration haha. After breakfast we drove around town. They have this amazing Mural Walk. Instead of walking since it's so cold we drove. They were so amazingly detailed.

We found this awesome visitors center. It was better than some museums we have paid to go into. We were there for more than an hour. The exhibits were wonderful and we learned a lot. Jeremiah really enjoyed himself. On the way back into town we spotted two kite boarders...

My mom just loves watching these guys when we are in OBX. I tried to convince her I had hired them to perform for her birthday present but I don't think she believed me haha. It was like 40 degrees out so you can't tell me it wasn't freezing to be out in that water!! We had a really great time watching them. They would pull themselves way up into the air a few times. No way I would be able to do that.

We also found another lighthouse...

This is Ashland Breakwater Lighthouse. There was a plaque about a shipwreck beside it we learned about too. So sad to think how many wrecks are in these Great Lakes. We ate a delicious meal and now we are back at our hotel. We've sure had a fantastic day. Tomorrow we are heading over to Duluth, MN.
