We got moved safely to our next destination for this trip. Charleston, South Carolina. We've never been here before so it's a little scary to be in a new place. The arrow shows where our hotel is located. It's nice to be out of the crazy downtown Charleston area a little bit plus the prices for the hotels downtown were so high. We are in a very weird shaped building...
We are right by the Ashley River. All the windows at the top of the hotel are a restaurant with a gorgeous view!
After we got here and got our lunch up in the restaurant. We drove downtown to the visitor's center. What better place to visit when in a new area. We got to watch a video on the history of Charleston. It was very interesting. Then we got a bunch of pamphlets and information on stuff we want to do. We made it back to our room and had dinner up in our restaurant again. It's really good food but an even better view haha. We are busy tonight making our plans.

This hotel looks very interesting. And from the restaurant high up there on the top level you must have a great view over the city.
Very interesting building.
Enjoy the views!
Charleston must be a fantastic place to visit!!!
Awesome!! My husband helped BUILD that hotel many many years ago!! It actually got wiped out by Hurricane Hugo--one side was sheared away! I was there before and after...used to visit a lot, doing my genealogy. Lots to see! If you travel out, try to go see the 'Egg' Houses that are reportedly Hurricane proof. Pretty neat! I think they are in Mount Pleasant... a quick drive over the Ashley River. And if you go downtown-ish, to the City Market, you might see local 'basket weavers' who make Sweetgrass baskets, which is a tradition that has been handed down for centuries, of African origins. They are exquisite, a little pricey... but worth it! Can't wait to hear more! Hugs!
Always a great adventure in a new place. Enjoy your fun activities👍
Very cool, and an interesting place to stay.
I know exactly where that hotel is! I used to drive by it daily on my way to work! I lived near Charleston - in Goose Creek - for 4 years while my now ex-husband was stationed at the Navy Base, which is now closed. Love the area!! If you have any questions while you're there, feel free to email me. tpatterson1961@gmail.com
Have a good time!
Fascinating looking building and I can just imagine the view. Being just outside the city centre sounds like a good idea. good luck finding interesting things to do and see.
Sounds fun! I never think to go to the visitors center when I'm in a new place
