Monday Cabin Update

Wow. What a week! We went down to our cabin Tuesday evening and had a lot of goals of what we wanted done before we came back home. We met all our goals and then some. The inside is complete other than decorations now! I'm so excited. Here are some pictures...

Before all the work guess what I finally had time for...
First stitching done in the new cabin! I started working on the July Durene Jones piece. I didn't make much progress. Just started on the border but still it was stitching done in my new happy place.

Now to the work part...
Wednesday and Thursday my Uncle worked on getting the inside trim finished up. We also went shopping Thursday to get our carpet, padding, and other things. Friday we emptied everything out of our cabin. We joked about feeling like we got evicted. What a process to unload everything.
In this picture you can see we got the padding and the carpet down! Jeremiah was very excited. He can finally go everywhere he wants without having to move the pads we had laid around. So he proved it by rolling back and forth a million times on the carpet haha.
When we were in town I had the idea to look for a cabinet. I wanted one with lots of shelves, doors, and about 4 foot wide. We found the perfect size and luckily it was on sale for $100 off! The last one they had even. So we grabbed it up. Here is Jeremiah helping Fred. He was in charge of sorting everything and handing it to Fred. It was like a big Lego kit haha.
Here is the finished product and also the curtain that closed off the potty area. We have a nice portable toilet and now Jeremiah has privacy if others are in visiting. The little fire place under the window is an electric heater. It also has a setting where you can leave the heat off and turn on the fire so it looks like a real fire place. We use it as a night light and it's just beautiful to watch at night.
We got our fridge setup where we wanted it and loaded. Boy it holds a lot! It even has freezer space for ice cream! The desk my step mother had from an auction that cost her $15. She didn't need it any more and said I could have it. It fits perfect!
My mom had an extra TV since she got a new one and it fit perfect on our dresser and is a wonderful size perfect for our cabin.

We also built our own bed frames. I wanted to have lots of storage under our beds. As you can see our bed is higher so even Jeremiah can be stored under ours haha. We slept wonderful our first night on our real beds instead of our cots that we had been using.

My Grandpa picked on me and asked If I would stop smiling by the end of summer? I said Why would I? Everything is just perfect. I can't help but love every little piece. It was really hard to leave and come home but adulting has to happen. Now to put up my decorations. Get curtains. This coming weekend we are hopefully going to get the roof for the deck done. Just so in love. It's definitely our happy place. Now to just count down the sleepies until we can go back.

Wow! Epic progress and so close to being finished now. Good to see it's been christened with cross stitching too! Just one question... did everyone roll around on the new flooring or was it just handyman Jeremiah?!

Your cabin looks fantastic! You have soon turned it into a home from home. And now that some stitching has taken place, you've definitely moved in!

It is looking great Katie and it looks as though Jeremiah is in his element!! I think this might just be your family's best summer ever down at the campground.

Hah, storing Jeremiah under the bed is too funny! I think he had the right idea on rolling around on the carpet. I mean that's what you're supposed to do when it's installed! I'm a bit jealous of the NES/SNES setup haha

Each time you show the progress you are making in the cabin it's such a pleasure. And wow, you ARE making lots of progress. This will be such a wonderful place when everything is finished - and it already is a fun place for you and the family.

The cabin is looking wonderful and Jeremiah seems to be having a blast fitting it all up. Did he find any monsters under the bed?

Jeremiah looks like he's having a great time breaking in the carpet! The curtain for the potty area is perfect. What a fun place to go, it's like a big playhouse with all the goodies!
