Homely Houseplants Finished

(Finish #6) March 4th
Homely Houseplants SAL
from Stitchonomy
Stitched on 28ct Cornflower Blue Evenweave
Threads Suggested DMC
Started Feb 1st. Took 18 Days.
Total Time 51 Hours 31 Minutes

My 2nd SAL with Stitchonomy is complete. The first one was the Snowflakes SAL and I really enjoyed it a lot. This year she is hosting 5 different ones. I'm looking forward to trying to do them all this year. We'll see. When the plants SAL was announced I was disappointed. I don't have one plant in my house. I've never liked plants. But just in case I thought I would sign up. I honestly enjoyed stitching these and now I want a plant or two haha. Maybe I'll get some at the cabin this year. Boy these took forever to stitch! I didn't plan on that that's for sure. I got it done though. It's about 8.5 x 11 inches. I'm planning to get some plant fabric and finish it into a large pillow to display. At least these don't have to be watered and I won't kill them haha.

Now I can get to work on my 2 class projects. It's been a busy week and we have a few plans this weekend but I hope to squeeze in some stitching time. Enjoy your weekend!

Congrats Katie on your finish. I’m like you, we don’t have plants in the house because we kill them either by watering too much or not enough. I do have lots of plants/flowers outside. You could plant some flowers outside your cabin.

Congratulations on the Happy Dance for your Plants You Cannot Kill!
They look wonderful on the fabric you chose too.

Huge congratulations on your finish! But 51 hours? Wow, that was some commitment and you deserve another special pat on the back for keeping up with it (any idea how others are doing?)
Your finished piece looks amazing, and if it's encouraged you to want a plant or two, then so much the better. I think the hanging baskets are my favourites and I'm glad there's no sign of an Audrey2! :)

Congratulations on your finish! It's lovely and you did a wonderful job stitching it too! Isn't it funny how some patterns seem to take so much longer than we expect? I think it will make a lovely pillow!

Such a lovely finish. I'm curious why did you stitch this if you don't like plants.
I'm happy to hear this has inspired you to thinking of getting plants for your cabin.

A fabulous finish, these kind of plants are the best, no need to worry about watering them or if they have enough sun! I think it will make a fun pillow, for home or the cabin?

I've enjoyed people stitching this one up. It reminds me of my Mom -- she loved plants and had many of the ones in this piece.
