Monday Update

I have some other updates I will be posting soon but I wanted to make sure I got my Monday Update in. So I'll do a quick update on just our fun weekend at the cabin.

We went down Thursday. Mom, Jeremiah, Izzy (our dog), and I. We went into town and got groceries and rented two movies to watch together. We had a lovely movie night together. Watched Underwater -- A really good monster movie. Playing with Fire -- A comedy with fire fighters and John Cena a WWE wrestler we love. I also did some stitching on a Mill Hill Kit picture will be in another update.

Friday Dad came over and we had a nice visit with him. Fred came down after work. Dad asked Jeremiah is he wanted to mow. Jeremiah has rode the zero turn mower and really enjoys it but he has never mowed. Well until now...
He was really nervous but he really was proud of himself. He gave up after doing the corn patch. It was pretty easy because he could really see where it needed to be mowed.

Our cabin deck has a new neighbor this Spring...
We watched till we seen the beautiful Robin's that are building their home. We have no problem as long as they are okay with us being so close to them.

Saturday we walked down to the creek at the edge of the property. Dad found a beaver and his dam. He said it's probably a 50 pound beaver. He has a beautiful home...
You can see all the stumps of the trees he has cleared in this area. He's a hard worker. Dad is happy to have him nearby. We also found a wood duck nest while exploring.

For those who might not have seen here in the inside of our cabin...
Our cabin is 12x24. We built the bed frames high so we could use the underneath to stores tubs and things. It was just a metal building with a wooden floor when we received it. We just love the time and effort to make our home away from home. This is the photo from right inside the front door.
The front corner has a little porta pot for Jeremiah to use. We have a nice vault toilet outside to use. This is easier for Jeremiah though.
We put up a shower curtain for privacy and also works great for a changing area too. The cabinet beside it holds our groceries and stuff. The little electric heater works great for our heat too. We have a 2nd one at the back of the cabin too for those really cold times.

Here is the outside of the cabin and our lovely covered porch...
We reluctantly headed home last night. It was a wonderful weekend. Sunday was Jeremiah's 22nd birthday. He had a blast at our home away from home. He said Yeah we weren't at Vegas but we were at the next best place. I agree. He got some money, two long sleeved UV swim shirts that match my dad's, and a little canvas painting from Sabriel. Her family also has a cabin at our family campground. They are relatives to Bev my wonderful step mother. We've adopted all 3 of them into our family too. Sabriel calls Jeremiah her brother from another mother. Anyway she painted Jeremiah Harley Quinn's diamond logo. He hung it up by his bed at the cabin. He loves Harley Quinn.

So it's a new week. I hope to squeeze in a lot of stitching. Try to squeeze in those last acrostic letters that I need to get to. I'll be back to read emails, read blogs, and post a stitching update. I think I need to post Smalls SAL and WIPocalypse. Busy Busy. That's what I get for being off the computer since Thursday haha. I hope everyone has a great week! Stay healthy.

Love seeing pictures of your cabin:) It must be wonderful to have an escape from everyday life, especially now. We used to have a lovely boat that I loved spending time on, but unfortunately my dad's health has deteriorated so he couldn't keep it. I miss that precious time on the boat I must say…<3

A lovely way to celebrate a birthday with loved ones, especially in the current times.
The cabin looks amazing, I remember it at the beginning.
Take care

Happy Birthday Jeremiah! It wasn't a Vegas trip but I am sure it was a jackpot spending the weekend away with all who love you!

Looks like Jeremiah had a productive day mowing and so did the beaver! Wow I didn't know beavers would do that much! The cabin is really looking great and what great new neighbors.

Thank you for the tour of your cabin! I hadn't realised beavers can have such an impact on an area - thanks for sharing :) Happy belated birthday to Jeremiah x

Glad you had a good time at the cabin for Jeremiah's birthday and, unlike Damein's birthday, not a unicorn in sight! Just thinking, if you can't go to Las Vegas for a while, maybe Las Vegas should come to you - a small one-arm-bandit would look quite at home in your cabin! :)

Jeremiah looks like a pro, and maybe have a regular job while you're there?!
It looks like you have some sweet critters for neighbours, I hope you can get some pictures at some point.
I'm glad Jeremiah had a good birthday in spike of not being able to spend it in Vegas. At least that can be something to look forward to, hopefully sooner than later.
Hugs to you all!
