Yeah I know it's Wednesday but today is my first day to have time to update. So here is a Wednesday/Monday Update haha. No stitching since my last Beer Dragon update. But a lot of fun and memories were made instead.
We started our mini vacation at the cabin. We are starting the process of putting down cement inside the barn. We are doing a little bit in the hard parts by ourselves. Jeremiah was really looking forward to learning something new. Wow!! We learned What a pain in the bum this whole thing is. So much work! This is my dad on the right side and my uncle working hard to level the cement. Bev (my step mom) and Fred were mixing the cement and putting it into a wheel barrel to move over to the area and dump. We got two big sections done Saturday...
Jeremiah made sure to make his presence known forever. Saturday night Fred, Jeremiah, and me went around the pond at least 5 times. Got my first 10,000 steps day. Actually got 12,968! 5.5 miles. Sunday we cleaned up and got ready to head out to the casino for a few days. Jeremiah took $140 along with him. Look at what happened...
My Dad's Uncle gave him $20 to gamble on. He told Jeremiah to play it for him. He won $541!!! He split it with my Dad's Uncle so Jeremiah took home $200 from that win. Then Monday night he hit another over $100 win. So he brought home $300. Fred and me were up and down. Wins followed by losses but boy we had fun and that's all that mattered. One thing we didn't enjoy was the masks. One time Monday I noticed I just wasn't breathing right. I came to check on Jeremiah and he said he wasn't feeling well either. His face was almost white. So we went up to our hotel room for a few hours. It really felt the same as having a burp stuck in your chest. We figured it was from all the breathing little breaths instead of our normal deeper ones. So we sure all agreed we are happy we didn't try to go to Vegas this year. Just wouldn't have been fun. We did get to see several friends while up there. So that was very nice. Jeremiah must have had a great time since this is how he looked on the way home...
By the way my best day so far with the new Fitbit was the Saturday we walked around the pond right? Sunday while walking around the casino I got 6.09 miles and 14,968 steps!!! Wow. My best day now on record. I'm still doing great with my new me. Yes I cheated a bit on my mixed drinks and food for the weekend but I'm back on my plan today. With all the walking I sure worked off most of what I put in while away so it balanced out a bit. Overall we had a really great time. Tired. But what a blast.
Some other personal news to share as well. I got my first mammogram finally last week. I was really nervous of course. A lot of people told me I would more than likely be called back for a follow up. That's really common with your first one. Since they have nothing to compare the scan to. Of course I wasn't looking forward to going back since of course it hurt like I figured it would. I got the email from my doctor and everything is all clear! Wohoo! So no worries for another year now.
Have a great week! Hope we all find some crafting time. I think I hear Beer Dragon still calling for attention. Don't forget to smile.

Looks like being the big winner is exhausting! Glad everyone had a great time and that you and Jeremiah weren't to sick. It looks like laying cement is also tiring; ha ha about him putting his name in the cement. Nobody will ever forget he was in there. Yippee for both your steps and the mammogram; keep up the good work!
Well done to the Gambler! Great wins.
Jeremiah might do better with a visor than a mask next time. I have been wearing a visor for work and it's much easier than a mask. My mask just fogs my glasses all the time! Apparently work have ordered some with wire around the nose so this won't happen.
Glad the mammogram went well, I've got mine at the end of September. It's every three years because I'm not high risk.
Masks are horrible as far as I'm concerned, but I still wear one whenever I'm outside--it's required in California. I really feel bad for the workers who have to wear them all day. You're doing great with your fitbit and I've learned some things about mine because of your encouragement!
Wow! Jeremiah must have the Midas touch--that is great that he won so much money.
You should be so proud of yourself for doing all those steps, Katie. I do try to get my 10,000 in each day and sometimes will find myself walking around the house inside just in order to ensure that I get them :) I'm sure the neighbors wonder about me--ha ha! You feel SO much better, though, when you've had some exercise and it is truly excellent for mental health as well. Keep up the good job :)
Haha, I loved seing pictures of your family and Jeremiah <3 So sweet and lovely to hear about your lucky adventures:D
I did my first mammogram last year. I could have done it earlier but I can't stand strangers touching me etc so it took me a few years to gear up for it... But luckily they were very understanding and I was all clear so I didn't have to go back. Hope you have a nice weekend!
If it wasn't for missing out on the fun, I'd suggest everyone give their gambling money to Jeremiah from now on; looks like he's got the lucky knack!
The new fitbit seems to be doing wonders for your motivation. I think you can be forgiven for your indulgence over the weekend given the additional steps you took. You're definitely making me feel guilty! :)
