A day late. Hubby had a day off yesterday so we played games and stuff. No computer time. As always lots to talk about. Maybe I need to do 2 updates a week haha.
Last week I worked on Hedgehogs in the Snow...
I have 3 days into this beauty now. I'm using 28ct Beige Jobelan and suggested threads. DMC and one Classic Colorworks. All the way across the design now.
Jeremiah had a night away with Dad and Bev Tuesday. They went to two casinos and had a blast. Some other family and friends went so it was fun. Tuesday morning I woke up with a horrible head ache. Worst I've had in a long time. Wednesday and Thursday I just had some pain in my stomach. Friday we went to do laundry and groceries since Fred had the day off. I noticed I had a real stabbing pain in my lower abdomen. So I figured it was a kidney infection. Then I noticed a really bad rash on my back. Saturday morning I woke up and had Jeremiah take a picture of my back because it hurt so bad. I looked it up. Yep it's Shingles.
We would see this commercial about shingles and how 1 in 3. I would tell mom and Fred don't worry I'll end up with it. Guess what? I did!
I had a fun day planned so I sat down and blocked it out. I'm getting a lot more active on Instagram. I seen everyone talking about #nye12x12...
Basically from noon till midnight you pick either a new start or WIP or whatever for that hour. 12 pieces for 12 hours. I luckily had enough WIPs here so I had Jeremiah pick the order for me. Those are the ones I worked on. It was a blast! I didn't make huge progress but I fell back in love with many of these pieces. You can see my progress on them on Instagram if you would like. Jeremiah had a gaming day with his online buddies. Fred enjoyed smoking cigars on the porch. He put up tarps to enclose the porch so he is a happy guy now. Keep the cold out.
Sunday I could tell I felt worse and I was pouting about it. Friends sent a message they were stopping over for a visit. So that was awesome. Another get my mind off it kind of day. I posted on Facebook that evening and everyone who commented said Go to the clinic. I thought I could just ride it out. Fred had Monday off so I told him we better go. Sunday night though I got my New Year New Start in...
I worked on it yesterday too so this is actually 2 days worth of progress.
Yesterday we woke up. Fred took me to the walk in clinic. Soon as the doc seen it she said Yep Shingles. So I'm on a medicine for a week 5 times a day. I notice the pain is definitely worse in the evening. Luckily Tylenol PM has helped me sleep. I woke up this morning very itchy but was able to not itch thankfully because that HURTS horrible! I am uncomfortable but I will be okay. So frustrating. I am just ready to be healthy. I do wonder if because I don't have mom to focus all my energy on my body is just catching up. I just really want to be healthy....please.
Have a great week. Happy New Year. I will back later with my plans for 2023. Love yourself. Smile.

Just caught up on the last six months of your blog. Wow, you had some rollercoaster of a year, didn't you? (I'll send personal email)
But I'm laughing to see you've already caught the 2023 SAL bug; that sounds so much like the old Katie from a few years ago that we loved so much. Good to have you back!
WOW Five times a day. I hope it clears up quickly and you feel better. Thankfully I have never had it but I have had the vaccination shot for it so maybe I will be spared. Love your January start.
Shingles sounds horrible! I guess it’s not contagious though? Hope not for Jeremiah and Fred’s sakes.
I do hope you feel better soon, your stitching is definitely keeping your spirits up anyway.
I’d have loved to have been able to do the 12 in 12, that’s my kind of SAL but it has to be on a school day for me to have any chance of success. Maybe you’ll join me for my Longest Day in June now you’ve had a practise run?
That is a cute one, I'm looking forward to seeing the hedgehogs show up.
Good for you for being so organised and planning out your stitching.
I'm so sorry you got shingles, ouch! I hope you're feeling better by now. DH and I just had our 2nd shingles shot last month, hopefully it works.
