Vacation Day 23

Today was our last day here in Outer Banks. I've really enjoyed our time here. This morning we went to our favorite restaurant called Jolly Roger. I bet we ate there at least 10 times in the 2 weeks cause it's just that fantastic!!! We felt like we've really got to know several of the people there and was sad to say good bye. The lady working the morning times gave us a going away present of several HUGE muffins. It was so nice. Then we went over to Roanoke Island again. This time we took the time to find the little light house. It's cute. Really small for the typical light house but it's a marsh light house so didn't really need to be that tall I guess. We also saw a maritime museum. It didn't have a lot in it but we still had a good time checking it out.

After that we went back to the aquarium. This time I remembered my camera haha. We had so much fun. It was funny how several things changed cause they decorated for Halloween more since we were first there. When we walked in I saw a lady working a desk that had been empty the last time. For $5 we got this little booklet with questions about things in the aquarium. We filled out the answers while looking around and then when we checked our answers Jeremiah got a really neat badge for completing it. It was really fun cause it made you really read the info on the exhibits rather than just run through. We of course had to stop and spend a lot of time at the touch tank...

I'm so proud of Jeremiah. He used to be afraid to touch stuff. This time as you can tell he was up to his elbow and sometimes past to touch the sting rays and sharks in the tank. It was so much fun and I'm so thankful we were able to go back. I took 144 pictures today which definitely made up for the 6 the last time. We also adopted an animal. You get a cute stuffed animal with a little sweater on that says where you got it. The money goes to helping the animals for their day to day care. You also get a window sticker and a paper that explains more about your animal. There were several to pick from Jeremiah picked the alligator cause of the one we handled at Myrtle Beach. It was a great way to pay back and help out the aquarium we just loved so much!! We suggested they get a sting ray for our next visit cause he definitely would have picked that one if available. We ate out at a delicious restaurant with all you can eat crab legs cause we just don't get them that often at all in Indiana.

We got all our extra luggage loaded and packed up. Tomorrow we will hit the road home. Please send thoughts/prayers for good weather and us to arrive home safely Sunday.
