Always Thankful Update

I've got 3 days worth of work into Always Thankful now. The 2nd day I finished the words and the motifs at the bottom. Now I get to fill in the background. It takes more time since there is a lot more stitching but I LOVE how it is making everything stand out better. Also all the counting is done so it's fun to just mindless finish the piece off. After I fill it all in there is a backstitch type of border and it will be complete. Still loving it!

We had a very nice Halloween. Fred (hubby), Jeremiah (son) and me went down to visit my Dad's side. They purchased a very nice woods property and they have made into a campground for family members. We are having Jeremiah's big 18th bday party there in April. We helped cut down some trees and pile up the wood for the fire pit. Better to get it out of the way now when we have time. My grandparents got an adorable little cabin and they are getting it all fixed up. It will be perfect for them to join in the fun too. It was a very nice visit. I also gave my Grandmother and Step Mom their bead birds I had finished earlier. They both loved them! It's always fun to give stitching as a gift but of course makes it extra better when they appreciate the work you put into it.

I'm also linking up to the Monday Stitchery Link Party. It's a wonderful place to share our love of needle and thread hobbies. Stop on over and see what lovely things people have been working on this past week.

I'm still in awe of your patience for this project, even more so now that you are filling in the background too! Wow and double wow! I'm so pleased you're really enjoying it. It's fab!
You are so lucky having family places to go and visit and the property sounds an ideal place for a big birthday bash. Bet Jeremiah can't wait until April. :)

Awesome progress and glad it's still fun. Will you go to a larger count piece after?

Such a beautiful piece! Your family property sound wonderful and the perfect place for a special birthday. And all that wood will have had a chance to age and dry out a little so it should burn beautifully.

You are so right, that yellow stitching makes the words pop. So glad you enjoyed your visit with family. A family campground sounds like fun.

The yellow really finishes off the stitching, it looks great! Mindless stitching is good especially on such a small tiny little minuscule design :)
Sounds like you have found the perfect place to celebrate Jeremiah's 18th Bday. I bet he can't wait!!

You are doing great on that gauze! I used 36-count linen, and did not do the background... no need. I love mine! Sounds like your whole family are more the outdoors-y type--perfect for you! Hugs!

The background stitches really are making the lettering stand out. It's going to look great when it's finished.

And the family campground sounds like it will be a fun place to enjoy making memories. Good idea to get the wood cut ahead of time... that will give it time to really dry out.

Thanks so much for linking up to last week's Stitchery Link Party and for the great link back. Aloha hugs!
