So I needed to practice. I have a drawer full of finishes I want to do something to. So I found this cute Thanksgiving piece I had done in 2013 (from Stoney Creek Magazine Summer 2011 page 40). I made it into a pillow finish...
The fabric behind it is what I put on the back. I just LOVE how it turned out. Then I did my 2 exchange pieces.

Yeah they aren't perfect but I love the way they turned out. I will definitely be making more pillows soon. Also during the craziness of getting ready for vacation I've been working on the Sept Whimsy. Here is where I am right now...
Getting close.

I think your finishes look great. Well done on taking the leap. Look forward to seeing more in the future.
Your finished ornaments are adorable!!!
Lovely stitching:) love the Trick or Treat finish:)
Your pillows look really good, you still got the skill after all those years! (I'm just starting to learn how to use mine). Great progress on your cute WIP:)
Love the little pillows - you got skills lady! I have a sewing machine I have no idea how to use, and I keep promising myself I will learn. Love the latest whimsy and can't wait to see it finished.
You did a great job on finishing!!
Wow! Looks like you had fun playing with your sewing machine :) It is quite a sweet feeling when you can admire your lovely finishes.
My favourite has to be the Halloween one! Love the button spiders and the choice of fabric for the backing!
Great progress on your Sep stitching too.
Great job with the sewing machine, nice collection you made.
Good for you, Katie!! They are so cute--love that spider one so much... It's fun to pull out different fabrics to see which one works best, isn't it?
Fabulous finishes Katie.
Your little pillows look great - I love the choice for the backs on all of them September Whimsy - the books are perfect for back to school
I also have such a drawer, lol. But usually I don't feel like doing the finishing, I always prefer to stitch. You were doing great pulling out these stitched pieces and finish them.
Great finishes, but the turkey is my favorite!!
Cute cute cute! That's a new ornament for every holiday remaining this year. Well done!
Great work on your finishes. I love the little spiral tree.
Great job! I'm still working on straight lines lol
