2017 WIPocalypse

Today is a fresh start to a new year. It's also the first check in for the 2017 WIPocalypse. I've really enjoyed this SAL in the past years. I was so glad to see she was hosting again. Now if only I can actually remember to update haha.

Here is the fun question for this check in – Introduce yourself, your projects, and any goals you have for the year!

Who am I? I'm a mom. I'm a 37 yr old stay at home mother. I devoted my life to my son when he came into my life. He was born 2 months early so they were watching him closely from birth. When he was about 1yr old he was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy which affects his connection from his brain to his legs. He can't walk without assistance and only for really short spans with no stopping. I was lucky enough to be involved in every doctor appointment and every therapy appointment. I'll forever be thankful I could be there when he needed me. Then when he was in 3rd grade we realized the public school system wasn't working for him. So we made the decision to home school him. Best thing I've ever done. Again though I was thankful I could be there everyday. It worked perfect for us. Cross stitching was something I could do when I was watching him grow up. When I was sitting down and had empty hands. I realized it was an amazing stress reliever. Then I found blogging and Yahoo groups. The online friends I've made have became real life friends too. I've attended fun stitching retreats and just learned so much. Even though my son is now 18 I still love my cross stitching! Other than cross stitching. I love traveling, the ocean, and geocaching if have heard of that. I try to love life everyday and smile to as many people as I can. Our life motto is No matter how bad it is....it could always be worse. Even when it doesn't feel like it... it's possible. We appreciate what we have instead of want what we don't.

I really enjoy this challenge because I use it as an excuse to keep track better of what I'm working on. I have a weekly planner and I write down what I'm stitching during that day. Then I can look back and see how many days a project has taken. Also what I've worked on the most throughout the year. So WIPocalypse to me is where I keep track. I don't know right now how many new starts I'll have this year. I'm going to start new things whenever I want. So I'll also report my monthly projects on larger projects during WIPocalypse. My main goals are to work on my Grandpa's Family Crest at least once a week. I also have a year long monthly project that I want to complete the month during the month it's for. Other than that I will work on what I want when I want it. Finish as many as I can. Start as many as I want. Enjoy my hobby!

Next check in is January 29th. See ya then! Wonder what I will have to share?

  11. Hi Katie! I love following the adventures you have with Jeremiah. It's not really home schooling, more "the entire country" schooling you go to so many interesting places.
Looking forward to the progress pictures this year.
