Vacation Day #17

I survived the night haha. I took Tylenol PM last night and it KNOCKED me out. But I slept through the night. I wanted to tough it out and continue with our plans for the day. We headed south along the coast to go see Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. It's a beautiful hour and a half drive from here. Along the way we found something we just love as you probably remember from my earlier posts...

Time to support more local artists. So glad we happened past today.

After the sale we made it to Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. It's such a beautiful lighthouse. Plus there is a beautiful beach nearby where we enjoy finding shells. This is my mom and Jeremiah working hard.

On the way back we stopped at Pea Island Nature Center. Mom stopped there before and has been wanting to take me. It seems like every time we go by it we are on our way to do something instead of having time to stop. This time we had time. The nature center is the main building where they can check in on what birds and things have been spotted lately.  I really enjoy birds but I'm not really a professional by any means. The lady working in there told us to take the path and there is a pond full of turtles. They unfortunately think they are going to be fed even though there are signs that says don't feed them. So boy they come swimming over just in case you don't follow the rules. It was a really beautiful area and I'm glad we stopped.

Unfortunately my cold took control this late afternoon and we ended up getting food at the grocery and coming back to the room. When we got back to our room we were treated to a wedding off our balcony...
I think they might have setup a little too close to the waves what do you think? What a beautiful back drop for a wedding though. Even though I hurt really bad we managed to have a great day.

You did manage to have a really good day.
Check out those turtles! Fabulous!
Great idea for the wedding, but yes, perhaps a little too close to the water ;)

So that's where I got my cold from, thanks for that!
I'm behind on blog reading but I have read all your recent posts, just commenting on one or two!
It looks like you've had another wonderful break with the wet wedding being a nice finale! I hope she wasn't wearing silk shoes.

Pea Island is a great place for birding! Been there two times now! Hope that you are feeling better by now, since I know you are on the way home now! Hugs!

Whenever I get to travel along the seaside (doesn't happen often) and discover a lighthouse I have to drive there. Somehow they are fascinating.
