Monday Cabin Update

It's another Monday. I guess. What a blur this month has been. Here and there. Go Go Go. Last week we had to scramble to replace our mower. The mechanic that looked at ours said it wasn't worth fixing. So we had to go shopping and figure out which one was the best buy for us. Fred is actually out mowing the yard finally for the first time now. It's been over a month now since we've had a mower. Luckily our neighbors have took turns mowing it for us. We appreciate them so much.

We headed down to our cabin Friday. Our goal was to finish off the roof for the porch. It rained on and off the entire weekend. We needed it bad. Our poor yard was crispy and brown. Still though we really wanted to get work done. Plus my Uncle has pneumonia we think so he really didn't need to be out in the rain working....yet of course he was.

It's not completely finished but the metal is on. Now we have a shaded porch and we stood out there in the pouring rain and no worries. Perfect. Fred was also able to get more lights up in the barn to help my dad out. My Godmother came over to visit Sunday she finally got to see our cabin. Now she said she totally understand why we love it so much. Plus my mom...
came down for her first overnight visit Sunday night. She had a blast. Plus my step mom helped me do the curtains...
They are perfect. She helped me buy them since we couldn't find the right size of course. Then she cut them all up and made a new hem for them so they were the perfect fit. I love them! Better than using beach towels like we have been. They have the look of burlap and yet they are black out curtains. This morning we slept till 8:30 which we never do. It was another wonderful cabin weekend.

Now tomorrow we head over to Ohio for a huge geocaching get together. There will be probably 5,000 plus people attend over the weekend. We are in charge of the party in the evening and it's always way too much fun. We are really looking forward to it. Especially since the weather has finally cooled down. About time!

So see ya next Monday....I guess. Someone tell life to slow down a bit after that please.

Fantastic! I can imagine how lovely it was to hear the rain on the porch roof after all that sun and heat. Good to see more of the family enjoying the cabin too, especially since so many people have been involved. :)

Yay, the porch is covered! I always love sitting outside in the rain. Sorry to hear your Uncle got pneumonia, hope he gets better quickly. Hope your geocaching event is a great time.
