The People's Choice -- Cats

The first Saturday every month we have this fun reason to blog. Jo gives us a fun theme to make a post about. This month the theme is Cats. Stop over to her blog to see what others have posted about here.

I admit I'm a dog person. We've had cats but I love dogs and their undying love for their person. Cats demand servants instead.

Let's look and see what I've stitched with the theme of cats though...

In 2007 I did a round robin for a friend. She used these adorable Mini Cats from Happiness is Cross Stitching blog. I stitched July for her.
The Durene Jones calendar project I did in 2018 had a cat on March. I adapted this one from Mum's Day to St Patty's Day to make it more American.
I stitched this some time before 2005 for a friend. I have no idea where the pattern is from or anything. This is before I really took notes on my stitching.

That's all from my finishes. Let's see if I have any in WIP form...
This Ursula Michael piece Let's Be Spooky has a cute Halloween cat. Here is where I am on this piece...
I haven't worked on this one since 2016. It's on my list for this month so hopefully we'll see it back out. It's part of my October acrostic.

Some time in the future I will work on the Kitty Face from the Halloween Mini piece...
Right now I have the Pumpkin, Skeleton, and Vampire finished. I'm working on the Green Monster face right now. The cat will have to wait. But it's one of the 8 I want to do. I'm not doing the scarecrow pumpkin, the cauldron, the bat, or the grave since I just don't like those as well. Actually I've been rethinking the cauldron and just might stitch it. The other 3 though I don't like at all.
So even though I'm a dog person I guess there have been a few cats in my stitching lists. Don't tell my dog haha. We did have a new kitty at the barn this past weekend. My Dad and Step Mom saved it from their factory they work at. Poor thing had been abandoned so it has came to live at the barn. It's really sweet. Jeremiah and I was put in charge on her name. We were trying to pick a name that had something to do with Ford Meter Box their factory name. When we met her Thursday she came meowing through the yard. So we picked Chatterbox. I missed getting a photo of her though so please stay tuned for some photos of her. See ya next month. The theme is Autumnal Colours.

Cute kitties, but not the spiders on Ursula Michael's cat hat!
I haven't seen a round robin for years. Do you know if it ever got finished? Perhaps if you made some changes to the cauldron, eg glow-in-the-dark thread, it may seem more appealing. :)

Thanks for taking part in The People's Choice this month. Even though you are not a cat person! They do make cute designs though.
I like the cauldron design in the Hallowe'en Minis but I agree with you about the others.

Gosh, Katie! You have more cat stitching than I do, and I love cats!
Very nice to read about Chatterbox, I’ll be back to look for the photo!

Like you said, lots of cats even though you're more of a dog person! I quite like Let's Be Spooky - it's very effective just using words x

I'm with you. I'm totally a dog person. I was a cat person when I was a little girl. My mom got my brother and me each a kitten of our own, and I would often wake up to find a dead mouse or a dead bird at the foot of my bed (my cat's "offering" to me). She was the best cat. Over the years I have tried to adopt other cats, but one peed on my head in my sleep (no joke) and another ran away. I don't think cats like me.

Check out this YouTube video: Cat Friend vs Dog Friend. It's one of my all-time favorites: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbycvPwr1Wg

All sweet kitty stitches, I think you're a cat lover at heart!
It sounds like you picked a great name for her, I'm looking forward to seeing what she looks like.
