Monday Update

First off I would like to take a moment to hug everyone who reads my blog. I appreciate you! This is a crazy time we are all living through. I wake up each morning and cautiously check the news to see what's going on. So many things I just don't understand. Here in Indiana we have 24 positive cases as of this typing and 1 death as of this morning. They just really started the testing so they are saying we will see big jumps in those numbers in the coming days. They have closed all our schools, restaurants and limited some other businesses.

My retreat was canceled. We once had several fun events planned this month and boy now it's blank blank blank. That's okay. We will survive...somehow. Our grocery stores are being overwhelmed. Of course it's time for us to go shop so we are hoping to find what we need tomorrow. Mom is considered part of the sensitive group being over 60 and diabetic so she will be staying home. Jeremiah is prone to pneumonia so he will be staying home as well. Hubby and I can do this.

So last week every day I worked hard on completing my retreat class pieces. I got the first one finished on Saturday and was so excited to get a start on the 2nd one. I was having fun pushing myself to finish them before the retreat. Now that the retreat is canceled I feel like the wind got punched out of me. I don't feel challenged. I want to work on so many other things but honestly I'm just breathing. Poor Jeremiah is scared and asking a million questions about what's going on. I'm trying to answer but honestly the answers change depending on what source I read. Mom is concerned rightfully so. We have our big trip planned end of April and who knows if we will even be able to go. The uncertainty is getting to all of us I think.

So like the cute image I found...Smile we will be okay. Let's stay positive. One day hopefully soon we'll all be looking back saying Wow remember that craziness?

Let's stitch and try to enjoy our lives as much as we can. We got this.

I'll figure out what I want to stitch tomorrow. We all know I have sooooo many options. Stay healthy.

It is a scary time for sure. I worry for my son who has ulcerative collitis and his daughter who had cancer. She has been cancer free for about 2 years, thank goodness and my son's UC is in remission. Take care!

News of the coronavirus changes by the minute. We don't have any confirmed cases in my county yet, but the one next to mine has one. Like you said, we've just started testing so who knows how many cases there really are.

The stores here are picked clean of essentials and food. :(

Enjoy your stitching... at least we've got that, right?!

I hear you. I lives in Westchester County, New York not far from the New Rochelle epicenter. Luckily(?) I've been unemployed so I haven't had to commute. And the social distancing isn't changing my day to day. Just the number of job postings I see.

Hang in there, Katie! Both my husband and I are high risk so we're staying home. With everything cancelled, I don't have anywhere to go anyway. My daughter has been doing our shopping and running errands for us.

We also had a trip planned for April which has been postponed to November. Hopefully, your retreat will be rescheduled, too.

We all just need to take one day at a time.

I normally do my food shopping online but it has now been cancelled as my supermarket wants to focus on getting groceries out to remote areas and ensure that these people have every day items. This does mean that I will need to go to a supermarket over the weekend and the way people are acting at the supermarket my anxiety level is starting to rise. But I/we will get through this!

I have just cancelled my holiday break for after Easter as I figured that I will be working from home by then and may as well continue to work. :)

You stay well my dear friend, and I'm keeping all in prayer. It's crazy everywhere right now. All we can do is sit tight and wait. Love you my dear friend.

It's definitely a scary unsettling time. Everything is up in the air and changing so quickly too. I hope you were able to get groceries, a lot of people are panicking and buying way more than they need. I agree,I'm glad to have stitching to focus on and help me to relax. Enjoy your stitching, take care and stay healthy!

I think it's about the same everywhere, the closings, cancellations, limited supplies, just a bit scary out there.
My upcoming retreats haven't been cancelled or postponed yet, I'm not sure if that's good or bad?! But keep on stitching, go to your happy place.
Love to your family, keep them healthy!

It is a crazy time and world right now but I am hoping and praying that we will get thru this trying time. I haven't been outside since this started since I am also 60 and it seems that since I had chemo I have a pretty low immune system. Glad you don't have to take Jeremiah or your Mom out anywhere but you and Fred stay safe!

Hope they can reschedule your retreat.
