WIPocalypse

According to my calendar today is WIPocalypse. So it's time to check in and see what I've been stitching on since the last check in. So let's see...

Let's Be Wicked -- Worked on 2 days. Finished!
Always Thankful -- Started and worked on 8 days. Finished!
Christmas Pals Ornaments -- Started and Finished #5 and #6 with 10 Days of work.
HAED Hope -- Worked on 4 days. (Just did an update on her scroll down.)
Life w/o Snow -- 1 Day. Will update after more time.

You can see the 4 finishes on my 2015 Finishes page if you would like. So how have you been doing? What have you been working on?

Today is Thanksgiving prep day in our house. Our plans are small but perfect for us. We just have our own thing here. No one extra comes over. So we just do what we want to do which is nice. My mom loves ham instead of the traditional turkey. We get a DELICIOUS ham from a local business. We also get a small roasted turkey breast cause I love the taste of it. I will make deviled eggs and our veggie dip. We need to get all the yummies into the fridge somehow. I look forward to having green olives and sweet pickles. Those are something that definitely make it a holiday since we don't have them that often. If you have a moment please tell me....what makes the holiday a holiday for you? I guess the people over the pond don't celebrate like we do. So I guess for you guys it's just any other day. I think it's funny we are supposed to take a day and be thankful. I'm thankful every day so I just plan on eating myself miserable instead. Well I'm off to get busy in the kitchen.

Nice post. Yes, give thanks in all circumstances (1Thessalonians 5:16) I have carried that in my wallet maybe for the past 15yrs or so. Since I came to this country I've had somehow gotten used to this holiday! Have a Blessed Thanksgiving with your family:) Hi to Jeremiah.

It's lovely to read about different traditions in peoples homes, across the pond I will think of you and be thankful I was introduced to your blog.

Ironically as a kid, I lived across the pond (in France) and Thanksgiving was one of the rare times we got to have turkey. After I was married, we always made the trip to NJ to see the in-laws, which became more important as the kids (cousins) all grew older. Now the oldest daughter (the only one in town) is doing the turkey so she can include us and her in-laws. As time goes on, the traditions change somewhat but behind it all is still family.

We do not have any Thanksgiving day in India and I (maybe, others too) thank everyday for everything. But we have tons of festivals throughout the year and that too we have many religions so the celebrations further gets multiplied with friends. We usually exchange special dishes with neighbors and I send large portion of sweet/snacks to my husbands office for his team, so that I don't end up with extra kilos. Other than that frankly speaking, such holidays are more tiring- cleaning, cooking and eating more. I thank after the celebration that its over :) A holiday for me is a home-stay Sunday when my husband takes care of everything and I get a full-freedom day. It doesn't happen always though. I hope I have answered what you asked for, I am confused :)
My daughter loves green olives very much, so we have to keep a jar full of those.

Thanksgiving is not celebrated in UK and France, so will have to wait for Christmas to eat our turkey :) Hope you had a lovely family time.

I always check in to see what you are working on but dont always comment. I love your projects (remember the Heron). Thanksgiving has evolved for us as family has changed. My brother and his wife have taken over hosting it. My sister and I did it for a few years after my mom died. Everyone brings whatever they want. We had enough food left to feed 20 more people.
