January WIPocalypse

For some reason I can't get Measi's blog to open. Today is the last Sunday of the month though so that means it's a WIPocalypse update. The idea of this fun blog check in started a long time ago. The purpose is to give us a push to finish all our WIPs before the end of the world. I think personally we hold the end of the world off by having so much to do still. I mean it wouldn't end with all this left to do right?? How fair would that be! I like to use this as a way to keep track of my progress with my stitching and how many days I've worked on what. It's a nice way to look back. The check ins are the last Sunday of the month. If we can get Measi's blog to work there are fun questions to answer too but I just can't get them right now. So let's see what I've been working on this month.

I've been having a blast stitching again. No stress. No push to do anything other than ENJOY my hobby.

Iris (Rainbow Dragon) -- 9 Days. I started this beauty for my New Year New Start. Just LOVE the colors!!!

Here she is after the 9 Days...

It's a Mermaid Life -- 2 Days. Another new start. This was given to me for Christmas this year from mom.

Here it is right now after the 2 days...

Christmas Jars -- 11 Days. I dug out this old WIP and finished off the last jar.

Salt Water Taffy -- 2 days so far. This one is staying out though so I will update my progress Monday.

No Stitching Days -- 5. Not bad. I'll take it. I've really just enjoyed stitching again.

See ya next month. Thanks for stopping by!

We ended up back at home after 10:30pm and boy were we tired. Sunday we just rested and watched TV with Jeremiah. I decided to work on Iris (Rainbow Dragon)...

Monday Update - Christmas Jars

Howdy to all my wonderful readers. It's been a very stitching filled week. I was looking through my WIP tote and this oldie popped out...

Christmas Jars from Dimensions. Last time I worked on it was Nov 30th, 2019.  I had 3 of the 4 finished. So let's fix that right? I worked on it every day last week. Like I said it was a great stitching week. Every day was over an hour. Two days over 3 hours. Here is where I got with the 4th jar...
Yes I'm going to leave it out till I finish it. I'm pretty close so it would just be wrong to put it away now haha. Have a great week ahead. We have fun plans on Saturday so I figure the week will feel like forever and a half.

December WIPocalypse

Here we are for the last WIPocalypse of the year. The idea of this fun blog SAL is to finish all our WIPs before the end of the world. I think the more WIPs we all have the longer we hold off the end of time. How could it end when we have so many beautiful things to create? I personally like to use this SAL as an excuse to keep track of what I've worked on each day. So then I can look back and see how long I've worked on each project. Helps me be able to answer the question better How long did that take? Also with the #24HOCS challenges now I keep track of time spent as well. It's been fun to see how long each piece takes to stitch up.

So my last post was November 25th. Let's see what I've been up to since then...

Snowflake SAL -- 22 Days. Got this one all stitched and finished up...
Christmas Jars -- 5 Days. Finished up the 3rd jar in the set of 4...
Nautical Year -- 4 Days. Started and finished the last Nautical year piece for the year...
Lizzie Kate Flip It Stamp -- 5 Days. Started and finished the last Flip It for the year as well...
Boba Fett -- 1 Day. Started this new piece for Jeremiah...
Here is what it will look like...
Here it is now after the 1 day...
It goes really quickly so far. The background is all half stitch.

Winter Time -- 2 Days. Another new start from New York Dreamer. Here is what it will look like...
Here it is now...
Non stitching days were only 10. The snowflake SAL helped me at least get a little time in each day which was a great help. But with Christmas and getting everything ready it stole a few days from me.

It's been a great year indeed. Check out my 2019 tab at the top for all my finishes. 45 in total and 37 are even FFO. Wohoo!!!

I just seen on the check in post here that next year is a go too so make sure to join in the fun. I'll stick with my finish as many as I can motto. Especially the 24 on my A-Z challenge list on the right side. Here's hoping. See ya in January with the next check in post.

#24HOCS December Challenges

#24HoursofCrossStitch Facebook group has these fun monthly challenges. No stress. Just extra motivation to do something fun and pick projects to fit in a theme for the month. The part I enjoy the most is the monthly acrostics. You pick a project for each letter in a word she picks. The name of the project can start with the letter. The designer can start with the letter. Or you can be creative. I've never heard a no sorry that won't work. The group loves creativity. No prizes other than to feel motivated and boy that's sure working for me.  No prizes needed.

For December we have a new acrostic. This one is 12DAYSOFXS. The 2nd goal is to stitch 24 hours throughout the month. So let's see what my acrostic picks are...

1 -- Beer Dragon from Paine Free Crafts
Connection: Over "1"
Goal: At least 200 more stitches
2 -- 99 Bottle of Beer from Ink Circles
Connection: Add "2" more bottles
D -- Christmas Jars from "D"imensions
Goal: Maybe Finish the Last Jar
The last one I need to do is the one on the left with the deer.

A -- "A"utumn Blessing from Waxing Moon Designs
Goal: At least 1 more leaf added
Y -- December LK Flip It Stamp
Connection: "Y"ear Long Set
Goal: Finish
S -- "S"nowflake SAL from Stitchonomy
Whole bunch of S's in this one.
Goal: Keep up and Finish this SAL
Here it was after Day 8. 19 Snowflakes Left.

O -- Best Friend Santa Mill Hill Kit
Connection: "O"ld Start
Goal: Maybe Finish?
I started this one in June 2017 for the Longest Day SAL and never got back to it.

F -- Christmas Celebration Sampler from "F"rosted Pumpkin
Goal: Make Progress
Another WIP that I haven't worked on in a long time...
X -- December Nautical Year
Connection: "X"stitch23 on Instagram is the reason I bought this set to do for Mom
Goal: Finish
S -- "S"easide Sampler Mill Hill Kit
Goal: Make Progress
Okay there are my plans for December. We'll see what actually gets accomplished. I will be happy with anything really. December is a month full of Christmas shopping, decorating, wrapping, and fun. We also have 1 fun night planned with great friends. Looking forward to that. Let's just hope it's a great month for myself and all my readers. Thanks for keeping me motivated.

Monday After IHSW Update

Lots of stitching to share. It's been a great progress filled week and weekend. First let's take a look back at last week.

Monday I started a new piece...
Autumn Blessing from Waxing Moon. I got the Weeks Dye Works threads to do this one in. Those leaves I just thought would be beautiful that way. Monday I got started on it and got one leaf done in the upper left corner...
I'm absolutely in love with the fabric too. 28ct Crystal Mello Lugana. This photo kind of shows the sparkle so you can imagine it in person I hope. Plus I love the variegation in the thread. Tuesday I got some more time with this one...
Added 2 more leaves as you can see. For some reason this one seems to go a little slow. It's a fun piece to work on though so that's okay.

Wednesday I picked up Christmas Jars again. I hadn't worked on it since Dec 9th 2017. Remember this one?
I have two of the jars finished. I wanted to get started on the red jar next. I have the two on the right finished up...
Here is my progress on the red jar now...
I took the day off Thursday to do a bunch of computer work.

Friday was the start of IHSW and my family did fantastic leaving me alone to stitch and watch TV. I got 7 Hours and 7 Minutes of stitching added to Beer Dragon. Here he was before and after Friday...
Saturday I added 200 more stitches and got to here...
Saturday I got a later start and didn't focus as hard. Maybe I was tired from the Friday push haha. I got 5 Hours 37 Minutes in still though. After getting the 200 more in on Beer Dragon I felt like moving on. So I stuck with the beer theme and picked up 99 Bottles. I got 2 more bottles added...

I have 51 bottles added now. I've also decided this one will be finished in 2020! I'm thinking about how I want to plan that. I might plan on at least 1 bottle a week until it's finished. We'll see. I'm not done making my 2020 stitching plans yet.

Sunday I only got 3 Hours and 2 Minutes but that was just fine after my fantastic two days of stitching. I started Tree Shopping another Mill Hill Kit. (Yes I really have been enjoying them lately as you can tell.) Here is what it will look like...
Here is where I got after the first day of stitching...
I'm going to stick with this one till it's finished.

I updated my #24HOCS acrostic list on the right side. I have 3 without any progress. There is still time left for the month. Honestly though I'm happy with my progress again. Especially after this weekend of stitching. So we'll see what happens the rest of the month. I hope everyone has a great week. Mom has a doctor appointment tomorrow and we have some shopping plans. Have to start the Christmas shopping. Doesn't seem like it's that time already does it?
