February WIPocalypse

The last Sunday of the month *cough* or as soon you can it's time a fun blog event. WIPocalypse. What is that? An excuse to stitch all our WIPs before the End of the World. We can do it right? Not if like me we keep starting new things haha. Oh well. We will keep the world from ending right? Yes we will!!

Head here to the check in post to see what others have posted about.

I like to use this SAL as an excuse to keep track of my time spent. I will share my projects I've worked on since the last update. Fun way to recap my stitching.

So what have I worked on since January 31st?

Bloody Mary Dragon -- 3 Days. I had just a little bit of the first page to finish off...

99 Bottles -- 28 Days for the LovetoStitch challenge. I had 74 Bottles and now I'm on 87 and 88.

So close to finished with the 8th shelf and then on to my last shelf!!

Beer Dragon -- Got a little bit added in 1 Day. Just finished up the section of 200 I was working on...

February Year of Celebrations -- 5 Days to Finish this one off...

We also get fun questions we can answer if we would like to. Question of the Month: What stitch-a-longs (SALs) are you participating in this year? The ones I participate are listed on my right hand side bar. The Fully Finished Gallery -- to push me to finish my older pieces. IHSW -- 3rd full weekend each month. Nice excuse to ignore everything and stitch! WIPocalypse -- Um that's why you're here haha. Smalls SAL -- My last post. Gifted Gorgeousness -- Share things we have received as a gift or are making for a gift. People's Choice -- Make a post about a theme we get assigned. That's it. I think haha. See ya next check in. Hopefully on time.

Monday Update

Boy it's been a busy day. But I'm here for a Monday Update. I will be back tomorrow for a Smalls SAL and a WIPocalypse update hopefully. I need more time haha.

So last week was the last week of February. Wow! I still working on 99 Bottles every day. I successfully fit it in every day of February. I made it from bottle 74 to bottle 87. Not bad at all! Here is my last day check in post working on the last two bottles for the 8th shelf...

I'm hoping to work on it at least 30 minutes a day until it's finished. Friday I finally got some extra time to work on Bloody Mary Dragon again. I really wanted to finish the first page. Almost. Took some time on Saturday and then it was finally finished...

If you look very close there are a few colors but nothing special. The dragon will finally make a start to appear at the end of the 2nd page I think. Love working on it though. After finishing this page I heard a scream from Beer Dragon. Poor guy has been ignored. I only got 1 hour though and it wasn't a tiny bit of progress. So I'll wait to share that with you guys. Trust me. It's little haha. I was too hooked on Dexter. I finished the series and the last one I was watching too closely to even stitch. I heard they are bringing it back for 10 episodes this fall and ohhhh I can't wait now.

Have a great week! Love yourself. Love each other. Find a reason to smile.

Monday Update / February Gifted Gorgeousness

Well it's Monday and it's the 15th. So I'll do my Monday update mixed in with the Gifted Gorgeousness Update. The lovely Jo has setup this wonderful blog SAL for us to share anything with the theme of gift. A gift for someone or from someone. Head over to the link up to see what others have shared this month. This last week all I've worked on is a gift for my hubby. 99 Bottles from Ink Circles. I'm working on it for the LovetoStitch2021 challenge so got at least 30 minutes every day. Sunday I got a little over an hour in on it. I'm on the 82nd bottle now! Here is yesterday's photo...

Slowly but surely. This is all I've worked on in February that counted for the gift theme. In January after the 15th. I finished up Winter Time which was a gift from Janet from Janet's Jabber...

Then I've also made some progress on Bloody Mary Dragon which was a gift from my husband for Christmas this past year. Oh I can't wait to get back to this one too...

So close to finishing up that first page.

Other than my stitching I have an interesting thing to share for my Monday update. Thursday I was exercising and kicked my husband's couch...

I think I broke my pinky toe on my left foot. Jeremiah was sitting near me and we heard the loud crack when it hit the leg of the couch. Poor little toe turned beautiful shades of purple and black. It got so swollen. It's doing better today. Still hurts but not as sore. I joked with everyone about when I was just sitting around day I didn't do this kind of things. Getting healthy is trying to kill me haha. What a dork. My depth perception has always been horrible. Main reason I don't drive. If I can't keep myself from hitting things with my own body can you imagine me in a vehicle?

We had a very nice weekend at the cabin just relaxing and watching movies. Now we are getting snow and snow. It's sure beautiful. I'm very thankful I don't have to go out. I'll just stay in and try to stay away from couches and other hard things haha.

Have a great week. Love yourself. Love each other. Stay safe. Smile.

Monday Update

I know I was just here yesterday for the WIPocalypse update but it's Monday so I had to post a Monday update too right? Oh well read it anyway haha.

So last week I worked on the October Fairy Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Thursday hubby and I went to get groceries. Over the weekend I pulled out Bloody Mary Dragon again. Here is where I was...

Friday I added a little over 400 stitches. Saturday was a long 8 hour plus day then I went to bed and forgot to stop my stopwatch. I added over 700 stitches though. Sunday I only ended up with half an hour and added less than 100 I think. Anyway I'm almost finished with the first page. I did look ahead and I'm pretty sure it will be the last column of the 2nd page when I get to color. It will be so exciting.

Saturday night we finally got a beautiful snow. 6 inches I heard here in our area. Now we are hearing a brutal cold is ahead. Today is the 1st of February which means I get to start the Love to Stitch half hour challenge. So I need to get this published so I can go stitch. Have a great week ahead. Love yourself. Love each other. Stay happy.

Monday Update

I did a lot last week but only one day of stitching. Why? So we all know I scaled back my stitching requirements to make myself less stressed. It has worked a ton. I've also been working hard on healing my personal stress. Most days it works fine. I've had a few days that went bad but not near as many. I've really enjoyed my workout groups. Then I noticed I was really really stressing over these two. One was setup like Biggest Loser. Very motivating but the layout was hard for my brain. I noticed I would worry at night while trying to sleep what I needed to hit the next day. Where I was going to get my points. Then I said Hey wait a minute. I'm doing this to myself. No one is forcing me to be this upset over being healthy and I need to focus on inside and out not just my weight. So I stepped down and I swear I immediately felt better. I was a little worried I would love my motivation but now I just adapted to my other smaller challenges better. So no less motivation just a lot less stress to hit my goals now. *big breath* Then I had one last day of this big challenge. It was a 3 week long battle of 10 person teams. It was a lot of fun but kind of advanced for me. I was the captain of the team which made me feel like I needed to do more because I'm the captain right? Yep you're hearing how I set myself up to be stressed. Thursday was the final battle. Oh my. What a challenge. I walked walked walked walked I hit 17k steps for my first time every. We won the battle but I was pooped. I told myself I'm not allowed to sign up next time. It's just a little too advanced for me and that letting myself stress too much limit. So long story kind of long haha. I've figured out what I needed to do to cut back. Besides I need more stitching time haha. I can be healthy and stitch....right? LOL

Wednesday I did put a little less than 200 stitches into Bloody Mary. Don't worry still a blackish blob. I did move to the next set of two columns for the first page...

Then we did something we really needed to do. We had a cabin weekend. Jeremiah, Fred and I. It was wonderful. We stayed warm with our two heaters. We had got Jeremiah the first season of South Park on DVD for Christmas. Fred and I watched it when we were in college and just had to introduce Jeremiah to it. We laughed so hard. Yes it's offensive but we laughed and laughed. He is 22 now so that kind of humor is okay for us immature people haha. I already have Seasons 2 through 5 on order haha. We made it through the first season over the weekend and are waiting impatiently for the next ones to arrive. We also had a nice time hanging out with Dad and my family down there. It had been since Christmas since we had been there. Jeremiah looked around the cabin and said I knew I missed it here but I didn't realize how much. It was so relaxing and just wonderful.

So it's a new week. I've still hit 10k today but because I wanted to and no stress. Perfect. I'm getting a handle on this thing called life....maybe....hopefully.

Have a great week ahead. I hope to stitch but haven't quite decided what is screaming the loudest. I'm also hoping to drag out my sewing machine this week. Love yourself. Stay healthy. Find what's stressing you. Stop it! Haha

Monday after IHSW Update

So it was IHSW (International Hermit Stitch Weekend) I took the weekend off everything. Even being healthy. No walking for me. Well unless I was going to the bathroom. The boys had two nights of their gaming marathon. So I had lots and lots of stitching time. First up I really wanted to finish my September Fairy. Guess what happened Saturday...

September from Lili of the Valley Calendar
From 2016 Cross Stitcher Magazine
Stitched on 32ct Lambswool Evenweave
Threads are Suggested DMC
Started Dec 30th. Took 8 Days.
Total Time 17 Hours and 26 Minutes

Then I decided to pull out New York Dreamer Winter Time again. Hadn't worked on it since April 30th...
I didn't realize how close I was to finished. Luckily the boys stayed up till 3am so I got to work and 3 hours and 22 minutes later...
(Finish 3) January 16th
Winter Time
from New York Dreamer
Stitched on 32ct Vintage Country Mocha Lugana
Using Suggested GAST, CCC and DMC threads
Started Dec 28th, 2019. Took 10 Days.
Total Time 24 Hours and 20 Minutes

Sunday I got a little over 600 stitches added to Bloody Mary Dragon...
Yep still a mostly black blob. I'm trying haha. So it was very worth the break days. I got just a little over 2k steps each day Saturday and Sunday. It was very needed though. I had hit over 10k every day since January 2nd. I'm back at it today. Hit 12k steps. I hope you all have a great week. Smile. Love yourself. Love each other. Good luck finding time for thing that make you happy.

Monday After Christmas

I think it's Monday. I have no idea haha. I know we had an amazing Christmas. But first on the 23rd I finished the August Fairy finally...

I just love this one of course. It's ocean related. Finished it just in time to get everything ready and head down to the cabin...

We met with Dad and Bev and my Dad's Uncle and his wife for dinner. Then just the 4 of us went to our cabin for the night. We watched a movie together and tried to sleep. We woke up had breakfast and Dad and Bev came back over for presents together and to watch National Lampoon Christmas Vacation our Christmas tradition. My Dad's side of the family had a small gathering at Grandma's house. The few of us had a nice meal and the extended family popped in after for a quick distant hi and bye to pick up presents. It was a lovely get together even in these weird times. We went back to the cabin to gather Izzy and our things and headed home.

Bed was calling by like 9pm haha. I ended up waking up ready to go at 5am which never happens for me. So needless to say I was excited about Christmas. I woke up everyone and get got started on our day. It was wonderful. We all loved everything. Jeremiah was spoiled rotten of course. No worries there. He got 5 new Xbox games. Fred got some games for his laptop. Mom got a new Snoopy blanket that she fell in love with. I got some fun stickers and notebooks for record keeping. Plus 3 new stitching patterns from my hubby. He did great!!

Bloody Mary, Dark Beer and Moonshine Dragons from Paine Free Crafts. I'm in love with them all. I quickly gathered my floss to see what I needed for these guys. 180 threads between the 3 patterns I needed 18. So Saturday hubby offered to take me get the ones I needed. How sweet. My 18 ended up being 50 haha of course. Plus made waiting in line worth it. Oh my everyone shops here day after Christmas I guess. I got started on Bloody Mary Dragon right away...

My dark dark 1,000 stitch blob haha. Using 32ct lambswool evenweave. 1 thread over 1. Starting in upper left corner so a lot of boring ahead of me. Goes pretty fast though. I did this in just little over 7 hours Saturday and Sunday.

I'm working on my year recap and I'll try to share some of what we received as gifts. Today I finally cleaned up a bit. I moved everything from the floor to Jeremiah's couch. Then from his couch to my computer desk. Today I finally put some things away. Slowly buy surely haha.

Have a great week ahead. Love yourself. Hope we all find time for those beautiful X's.
