Dec 9th Monday Update

Another Monday so time for another Monday update. Let's see what I worked on last week.

Monday Twas the Night Before Christmas prompt I did was Something Hanging. I used Luck of the Irish because the IRISH part could be made into a wall hanging like banner. Plus the piece was on my acrostic list...

Needed 200 for my goals and added 351.

Tuesday the prompt was several things I didn't have on the piece YELLING for attention so I needed 300 for a penalty pick as long as Christmas themed...

So I finally got to start this one...

My first Lola Crow design and definitely not my last. Jeremiah picked the Creepy Christmas Tree for the first one to do. So I got started. Added 501 so that worked for needing 300 for the penalty. Stay tuned for pic.

Wednesday the prompt had an option for any type of head covering. So out came Noel Gnomes by Jardin Prive...

There are a lot of little gnome hats in this one.

Thursday a prompt was Outdoors and another piece on my acrostic goals for the month is a perfect fit. Grow Together HAED...

I added 250 so goals met for both things.

Friday we loaded up early morning and went away on our mini vacation to start Christmas shopping. We started this several years ago and we love continuing the tradition. Fred took Friday off and we go up to Michigan City, Indiana area. This year we decided to try a new to us hotel we had heard a lot of good things about. It was lovely and dog friendly which is a must. My bestie Daryl met us at a huge discount place we love stopping at on the way. We got a good start on shopping and had a great time. We went to a 2nd discount type of place and found a few things. Then decided it was time to head to our hotel. Right by our hotel was a nice brewery that served food according to my phone so Daryl followed us and we had a lovely meal and enjoyed our time catching up with him. Our hotel was right across the road so we got our room and settled in. I was really tired so I laid down to see how comfortable Jeremiah's bed was and fell asleep for a bit haha. I'm so old haha.

Spike helping me watch the water since we were lake front.

Saturday we loaded up. First stop my fav stitching store. I must admit I was sad. I didn't find the arm full like I normally do. The owner did say she was behind on getting things ordered. I did get the thread I needed for a piece coming up. Also another thread for a fun SAL I just decided to join. I grabbed two things for Christmas. I really looked hard at the charts and nothing was calling me plus I needed new Qsnap snaps and they didn't have any. So hubby said well I see an order from 123 being placed haha. Which made me feel bad. I love supporting a brick and mortar store when I can. I really hope this isn't a sign of bad things to come for this LNS. Next stop was a used game store for Jeremiah's addiction. I was really worried because you just never know what this type of store will have. Especially when Jeremiah is really spoiled and owns every game that has been released haha. Well luckily I was wrong and Santa found a stack of hypothetical presents. We were able to get Spike's nail trimmed at the pet store. I found a cute present at Five Below. Then we met up with Daryl again at a new to us brewery. It was delicious and we had a great time. Back to the hotel and I did manage to get 150 stitches in...

I worked on Creepy Christmas Village again for Friday's prompt Things that can fly because the piece has crows in it. I finished up the needed 50 to hit 200 when I got home last night. Plus added 67 more for Saturday's prompt which was snow since this one again works for that...

So 768 added so far to the Creepy Christmas Tree.

So we had a great time away and got a lot of Christmas presents waiting. Oh I did place an order from 123stitch. But Santa will bring that stuff. I never have a problem finding charts to buy on there haha. Problem with there is not buying too much haha. Have a great week. Love yourself. Smile as often as possible.

Sept 3rd Tuesday Update

Labor day weekend we had a full campground so today you get a Tuesday update instead of Monday. Let's see what I did last week.

After my last post we loaded up and headed up to Shipshewana where my mom sold for 17 years. It's a large outdoor flea market in an Amish town in northern Indiana. We went up Monday and stayed the night so we could be there when the market opened on Tuesday morning. It was forecast to be record breaking heat of course. I told Fred it would either snow, storm, or be hot if he took a random Tuesday off work so we could go. We stayed at a hotel and had a nice evening just relaxing. Tuesday morning the market opened at 8 am and we got there soon after. This was Spike's first time there and he really enjoyed it and yet again amazed us at how well behaved he was. We stopped at every covered sitting area and gave him ice water to drink and let him rest. He was ready to keep going every time. Luckily they have loose rocks and not pavement so the ground was cool enough to not bother his feet. We had a great time overall. Of course it was emotional because there were several people my mom was friends with so we stopped to talk about her and how much we miss her. Some tears were shed. But everyone was so glad to see us.

I found several new hand made gnomes to add to my collection. Fred found some tools. We found some kitchen goodies and other odds and ends. It was a fantastic time and really didn't get too hot till the last row. We were sure happy to get in the AC and come home though haha. Quick stop at an Amish meat and cheese store before heading home. Yum!

When I got home I was happy to pick up my stitching again. Dashgo call 17 was Musical Instrument and I didn't have any WIPs that worked so I worked on Irish Blessing...

Wednesday I pulled out Beer Dragon for his monthly 500. Finishing up Thursday morning...

Here is the whole thing now...

Dashgo 18 was Beads so after putting the last of the 500 in Beer Dragon I pulled out Enchanted Pumpkin Mill Hill. 284 Thursday and 610 Friday waiting for people to arrive for the holiday weekend...

Saturday the Dashgo 19 call was WIP based on a Holiday. I didn't steal time from everyone here. It was a lovely weekend with Bev's extended family as they host a family reunion here on Labor Day weekend. We had a sea of tents and campers. Soooo many kids haha. What a perfect place for them to run and be safe.

Sunday ABCingo started with X called. So I knew if I could just get 100 stitches Christmas Celebration Sampler would work for Dashgo and ABCingo so I snuck in the cabin and got a quick 104 added...

Monday I was called for ABCingo and Dashgo 20 was a WIP we would like to finish this year. So Irish Blessing came back out. 304 added...

So I will have a letter everyday till the 25th and the last Dashgo calls Wed, Fri, and Sun this week. Wonder what the last 3 will be? Today's ABCingo is Q so I'm going to use Canine (Q)uotes for it. Then back to Irish Blessing after the 100 for more points for Dashgo.

I hope everyone has a great week. Find reasons to smile. Love yourself. Hugs.

Jul 1st Monday Update

Here it is the first Monday of July. How? 7 months into 2024 already. I just wish the rest would SLOW down. Let's see what I was up to last week.

Monday I started another new piece. I mean I haven't started anything else lately right? Shush haha. The Pirate from Cottage Garden Samplings just had to be mine. I mean pirate! Hello? I worked on it Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. I'm using 36ct Mirage Edinburgh Linen. I loved how it was a dark and I hoped the snowman white would pop better. I love it so far...

1,274 stitches so far. Thursday I got to working on Thanks to the Brave by Erica Michaels. Worked on it Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. Sunday I put the last stitches in.

I found a little frame while shopping at Hobby Lobby Saturday so I tried it...

Love it!!! Oops forgot to give info on the piece...

Finish #19
Thanks to the Brave by Erica Michaels
Fabric 40ct Silk Gauze
Threads GAST Black Crow, Roasted Marshmellow, and Weathered Barn
Started March 1, 2024. Took 10 Days.
7,065 Total Stitches

A friend of mine got me interested in a new hobby...

It's a felt kit from Merry Stockings. From a mantel series so it makes a little shelf display. I've always been intrigued by felt kits. So I figured why not. I received it Saturday morning. Of course I needed some supplies so off to Hobby Lobby I went...

Some batting, sorting containers from the sequins, new scissors, some of the clips everyone is using, and I needed some floss of course. I will hopefully start it soon. My left wrist is hurting really bad probably tendonitis and I want that to heal up before I even try twisting and holding that felt. Luckily it doesn't hurt too bad to hold my Q-Snap. Not that I would let that slow me down haha.

I have 3 new starts planned for July...

I have this one planned for today. I would think it will be pretty fast so hopefully I'll finish it this month. I'm using 28ct New Khaki Lugana and Weeks Dye Works threads Liberty and Americana. I also have one like this that says Freedom. A LNS posted them on their Facebook page in April 2020 and I just knew my little patriotic kiddo would like them.

Two Mill Hill kits will be started this month. Pisces which is Fred's Zodiac. The other is another Jim Shore gnome this one is called Mushroom Gnome.

Life update. Our little garden is doing fantastic...

Zucchini and Cucumber galore. I see a lot of baby tomatoes growing as well. Any time now. Yummy!! We like having the zucchini on our grill. So delicious.

Bev update. She was released from the hospital. They think the antibiotics treated whatever the infection was and her numbers are slowly building back up. They also did a bone marrow test because they wanted to check her overall cancer. Right now she still shows as cancer free. So last discussed they want to do one last round of chemo just to keep it gone. Then we don't know other than to switch to watching and maintaining. Still more to learn. She seems to be doing okay. She is sick of not being able to see. I sure wish that could come back. She does beautiful embroidery and she misses it badly. I simply can't imagine. Thanks for all the extra prayers and thoughts sent for her. I appreciate them a lot.

I'm off to stitch. I love the beginning of a month. I get all excited about my stitching plans. Let's do it. Have a great week. Happy 4th of July to my US readers. We are going to be a little laid back. Supposed to be HOT and stormy. My BFF is busy doing some things with his new love haha. So he won't be here. So should be hopefully laid back. Maybe I'll even get to stitch! That would be lovely. I have a challenge to stitch 1776 on a Patriotic piece. I would love to get that done.

Love yourself. Find reasons to smile. Stay safe in the weather.

It was a busy busy week but we got everything done we needed/wanted to get done. Saturday the weather was perfect. The heat was lower than all surrounding days. 80 degrees and seriously perfect. Light wind. So the band was a success.

I have no idea how many people were here. Just guessing maybe 75. Some friends came we haven't seen for way too long. We enjoyed our time so much. Sunday the heat got bad so everyone hurried to pitch in to get everything back to normal and headed home. This week we have dangerous heat all week so it was perfect that everything was great last week and event day.

So no stitching since Wednesday. I am itching to get back to it. Plans for this week. I am going to work on the Winter SAL from Stitchonomy for a challenge event where I need 500 stitches. Then Thursday I want to start the Summer Line Up from The Trilogy in honor of the first day of Summer. Over the weekend I might work on Yggdrasil but haven't fully decided yet. I have The Pirate from Cottage Garden left on my challenge list but I just might leave it till next week.

It's IHSW this weekend and Fred had a radio field day from 2pm Saturday to 2pm Sunday. Supposed to be hot hot all weekend. So doubt any other plans will pop up. Should get good AC stitching time haha. Bev went up to the hospital today to get her last round of chemo started but her bloodwork came back really low so she was sent home to rest. They will try again next week.

Jun 10th Monday Update

Fred has this week off so I have no idea what day it is. But according to my phone it's Monday so here's a Monday update haha. Let's see what I worked on last week.

Monday I worked on Patriotic Gnome Littles by Waxing Moon Designs. Finished the one I was working on Balloon Girl and started Celebrate Gnome the bottom middle guy...

Tuesday was spent on Christmas Celebration Sampler from Frosted Pumpkin. I started and finished the T block and added more to the right side border...

Wednesday I got the 300 needed for Halloween Potions by Les Petites Croix De Lucie for the month...

After I finished that I pulled out Beer Dragon by Paine Free Crafts. I wanted to add 500 for the month. Thursday I completed those stitches. I'm Day 98 into this beauty now...

Friday I worked on Taurus Mill Hill Kit. Added 400 for my monthly goal. Close to a finish now...

Saturday I got out All American by Primrose Cottage. Time to finish it off. Maybe today. After 814 Saturday and 624 Sunday this is all I have left...

The bottom part from the WHITE square is all what I added. It really goes quickly. I enjoy this one a lot and definitely have a love for Primrose designs after this beauty.

Saturday Fred took me up to Fort Wayne to the LNS (local needlework store). A friend has a stitch day from 9:30 till 12:30. I think there was 10 or 11 of us. I really enjoyed my time visiting with the girls. Fred runs off to do some of his own things in case you were wondering haha. Then we came back and Fred mowed here so that helped me get lots of stitching time Saturday.

Sunday we were doing some work here with my dad. Spike has been doing really well off leash for short times so I let him off. He ran to the pond and then darted into the woods right by us. Several minutes went by and he didn't pop out to see where I was like normal. So I started calling for him. Nothing. We all started looking for him after 20 minutes. I was one worried dog mom. Then I saw a deer pop out of the woods by the pond. Yep Spike was hunting that darn deer. So thankfully after about 30 minutes he popped back to get a drink from the pond and tell me how much fun he was having. I grabbed him and told him he scared me to death. Least he came back sooner than later.

So the band we have every year is coming this Saturday the 15th. Lots of do. So that's why Fred took off work. Then since he's off I got some appointments scheduled and now we have a crazy full week haha. But today the chores are done so I need to get off here and STITCH.

Have a great week. Love yourself. Smile!

Jun 3rd Monday Update

I know we all say it but serious....how is it June already?!?! Wow. Slow down 2024!!! Let's see what I was up to last week...

Monday was Memorial Day. So no computer time and no stitching. Too tired from the great weekend.

Tuesday and Wednesday I worked on Dragon Biscornu by Tiny Modernist. I had a goal of 200 for the month...

After hitting my goal Wednesday it was time for my last new start for May...

Tickled Pink in Stitches posted this beautiful Irish Blessing. When I seen it was a freebie from Herrschners I was like um well I need to do that haha. I mean....Irish! I'm using 32ct Antique White Linen for it and the suggested colors. It did surprise me how many color changes there are but it looks beautiful so I'm okay with it. I added 354 Wed, 78 Thurs, and 108 Friday...

Saturday was June 1st and I decided why not start Yggdrasil. I mean 7 new starts in May just isn't enough haha.

Using 32ct Lambswool for my Paine Free Crafts like normal. 1 thread over 1 complete X.

Saturday and Sunday 500 added already from that beautiful upper left framework. Love it!!! Just love how it's right into the design. Just love the overall art. Just love each little X.

Life. Wednesday Jeremiah was off on an adventure with Dad and Bev. They hadn't went anywhere since August. They had a great time. The 2nd was Fred and my 23rd anniversary so I joked with him about taking Thursday off since Jeremiah would be gone. He took Thursday and Friday off work and we had a great time! We went out to eat a delicious dinner Wednesday together. Thursday after breakfast we loaded up with Spike. Took him to get his nails trimmed, went to a dog park and on a little hike, then went to Fred's favorite cigar bar. They allow dogs and Spike did amazing! So he will definitely go back. Jeremiah got home sometime in the afternoon Thursday. He came home with $175 more than he took. Lucky little turd haha. Bev was tired but really had a great time. Friday Fred and I ran up to Fort Wayne to do some banking and quick grocery trip. It was a nice relaxing day. We watched the rest of Fallout on Prime.

Saturday we did some work. Time to put away our winter shower house and get the sink back setup...

This time we built it so we was hoping we could just pick it up with the tractor and not have to take each board and sheet of metal apart like last time. Up it went and away it went. Perfect! This coming winter we can just pop it back on and done. Fantastic. We also got a tree cleared that had fallen down in a storm. We are having the band back here at the campground June 15th so we have a lot of stuff to do but Fred has the week before off work. So hopefully it goes as fantastic as this last week and we'll be ready to go in time. Excitement is definitely growing as it gets closer. Bev is going to put off treatment till the week after hopefully. She is telling doc tomorrow so fingers crossed her is okay to delay.

Life just keeps moving along. Smile. Love yourself. Find whatever makes you happy. See ya next week with hopefully more stitching to share. I don't know what's screaming loudest to be stitched because I hear all of them. Me Me Me.
