June 23rd Monday Update

Hello everyone who is still here reading. Last week was a crazy busy week. I only worked on 2 WIPs. But I got a PILE of haul. Please pop over to my flosstube to see everything I was lucky enough to grab.

My two WIPs...

First up Monday I worked on Fred's spin from last week's video. Unicorn Biscornu from Tiny Modernist. I was sad to see it get spun but guess what I actually enjoyed the 240 stitches. So evidently putting a piece away for awhile really helps. It's still slow but I got progress...

I added the top part to the side border. This is the bottom panel for this biscornu.

Tuesday and Wednesday I worked on Jeremiah's spin The Pirate by Cottage Garden Samplings. I love this one. Added 425 total over the two days...

Thursday we took the day to run some fun errands including a great stop at Always in Stitches in Noblesville, Indiana...

We also found a fantastic brewery/restaurant that was dog friendly and it was delicious. We will definitely be going back.

Saturday 35 Trax a family cover band performed again here at our campground. We love them. It was crazy hot. We had an excessive heat warning but staying in the shade helped a lot. We had a lot of people show up and it ended up being a great time. Now I'm in stitching withdrawal haha. So trying to finish here and go stitch.

Thanks for reading. Love yourself. Go stitch all the things!

May 28th Tuesday Update

Holiday weekend was busy busy so here is my normal Monday update a day late. Let's see what I worked on last week.

There was a pop up challenge in Magazine Monthly FB group called Mother May I? One admin gathered prompts from everyone like May we stitch something Halloween? She had a list of 10 I think. It was a 5 day challenge. Each night before she would post Mother We We and the other admin would answer Yes or No. If the answer was no she would change to what we had to stitch instead. We only need 100 stitches for the prompt. The 19th was the first day of the challenge. The prompt Stitch the closest to a finish. I had picked Taurus MH kit which I shared on my last Monday update.

Monday the prompt was Stitch something with people. I also had Christmas Celebration by Frosted Pumpkin on my acrostic so I pulled that out. I added 104.

Tuesday the prompt was Stitch something with a border and Christmas Celebration worked for that one too. I added 622 more. So a total of 726 was added...

The border on the left was up by the snowman like the one on the right. So I definitely made great progress. Plus finishing the S block. No promises but I just might finish this one this year.

Wednesday was another birthday month Wednesday start. The Mandalorian from Forbidden Fiber Co. Janet gave me this pattern on the way to retreat in March. Plus she gave me her leftover threads from when she stitched it. I had to order two that are the most used but that's a fantastic deal. Plus her sister gave me the white evenweave I'm stitching it on. I had made a comment about stitching on 40ct and she had a piece that she gifted me. I added 660...

The prompt for Wednesday was Stitch something with words so Mandalorian worked perfect.

Thursday the prompt was something with flowers. So I pulled Unicorn Biscornu back out because I was stitching the flowers on the back panel and added another 100 stitches...

Then in honor of Memorial Day weekend I pulled out Colorful Eagle by Kitty & Me. They surprised us with a final bonus prompt stitch something you love and it definitely works for that too. I added 331 to him...

No stitching over the weekend. We had some camping friends and family over and had a nice holiday weekend. It was humid but then it stormed and was pretty beautiful for sitting around the fire in the evenings. A lot of laughs were had.

Last week I also planted a garden. Mostly different tomatoes but also some cucumbers and zucchini. I'm so excited about it and loving watching it change each day...

It's been fun to do with my dad. Spike thought he found a friend while on a walk around the pond...

It's a paint belly turtle and she was laying eggs. We put a flag there so we don't disturb them. Spike checks them every day to see if anything has changed haha. His babies ya know.

I did something new. I grew my own sprouts...

I've always liked them on salads. I've tried them now on a cold meat sandwich and hamburger. Yum. They are good for you too. So double plus. It was fun to watch them change everyday. Really easy to do.

One last thing. I got an email from Paine Free about new releases and fell in love with one. We have been into Vikings and Norse stuff for awhile now. Look at this new release...

Jeremiah loved it right away. Then I showed Fred and it was done. I ordered it. The fabric has been ordered too. LOL another new project. Oh shush. LOL Least this one it's right to that gorgeous border instead of pages and pages of background. The black background is pretty small before the gorgeous tree starts. I don't have to explain it....it's a new pattern. Shush I needed it.

My plans for the week. I get one more new Wednesday start. Irish Blessing from Herrschners. I have Dragon Biscornu left on my acrostic need 200 on that one. I need to iron out my June acrostics and plans. I'll be back to share those plans when finished.

Have a great week. Love yourself. Smile.

May 13th Monday Update

Hey all. It's my 45th birthday. Definitely feel old haha. A lot of arthritis lately making sure I know I'm aging not so gracefully haha. Let's see what stitching I did last week...

Monday and Tuesday I spun my acrostic tiny decision wheel.  Unicorn Biscornu by Tiny Modernist. This was from the monthly mix new starts I had planned for the year. Honestly I'm surprised by how SLOW these biscornus move and I'm confused. Is it the 18ct Aida? Is it the pattern? So weird. Oh well. I'm glad they are started but honestly they are a pain to stitch haha. I will mix them into my WIPs and make progress no matter how SLOW they go haha. I had the goal of 200 for my acrostic list. Monday I added 163 and Tuesday added 144. This one I decided to start with the back panel so I got to stitch some pretty pastel flowers and a diamond...

18ct Vintage Country Mocha with the suggested DMC.

Wednesday was another new start. Every Wednesday in May. Wohoo. This time the wheel picked Gathering Berries by Luminous Fiber Arts and I was so excited to start this one. My first Luminous Fiber Arts pattern. Definitely not my last! 32ct Vintage Country Mocha (Yes I love this color if you haven't noticed haha). The thread is a Classic Colorworks Belle Soie called Cranberry and it's SOOOO soft. I added 536 stitches...

I really enjoyed this one a lot as you can see. It will be back out soon I bet. But more acrostics to mark off in my Mega May stitching month.

Thursday I spun an OLD Mill Hill. Harvest Wagon. The theme for one was Farmer's Market and I seen this old WIP on my list and thought hey a wagon full of pumpkins screams farmer's market to me. So I sat the goal for 100 stitches. After some research I bought this with mom on a trip to House of Stitches in 2019. Started it for Halloween in 2019. Here is where I was with it...

I started stitching and was loving it. I noticed there wasn't a lot left. I hit the 100 mark and kept going. At dinner I only had 3 symbols left to finish. So I went back to it after dinner. Added a total of 292 I finished it...

So Wohoo a finish to mark off my always growing WIP list haha. I'm going to make a magnet for the fridge but it's cut out and ready.

Friday Jeremiah spun the wheel again and Beer Dragon was picked. Perfect for a weekend. I wanted my 500 monthly goal. Friday I added 370 then Sunday added 141. So I hit 511...

Looking great! Getting close to another column finish. I think there is only one page left for this top row. So happy about the progress I'm finally making on this beauty.

So far I've stitched 3,392 stitches this month and loving every single one. It's been fun stitching so many different things. The acrostics are definitely fun for me. I'm glad I found these challenge groups.

Today is my birthday so I'm doing a new start today and Wednesday this week. Jeremiah picked Luck of the Irish by Primrose Cottage for today. We haven't spun yet for Wednesday.

I seen in my email this morning the sweet Faith sent me a birthday GC for 123stitch. So I'll get to go shopping. That's always fun to do haha.

Quick life update as well. Saturday was my Uncle's Celebration of Life and it was wonderful. He would have loved it. Probably 150 people showed up throughout the day. It was just a laid back celebration in his wood shop. I seen some family I hadn't seen in way too long. They did a full military salute which was beautiful but so many tears were shed. It was a lovely day. He will be missed by many but I smile thinking of the party in Heaven with my mom and their parents. They were happy to see him again I'm sure.

We also had a nice time here at the campground. Bev is doing good. Tired easily but still doing okay. She did need some platelets last week but it went well. So we are just waiting and enjoying time that we are lucky enough to have. Dad came over today. They aren't planting their big field of corn this year so we are making us a small garden and I'm just so excited. Tomatoes, cucumbers, and zucchini are definitely going to be planted. It will be so nice to learn dad's techniques because he's great at gardening. I'm sure so thankful.

Anyway I want to get off here and STITCH haha. Thanks for reading my rambling haha.
