July 28th Monday Update

Hello anyone still here haha. I mostly update for myself and a teeny few readers haha. I had fun having a Christmas in July week mostly last week. 5 of my 7 projects were Christmas at least.

So let's see what I worked on...

Monday was a no stitch life day. Tuesday I got started on Luminous Fiber Arts Trick or Treat for Adelaide's bday #orangefabricHalloweenSAL. I'm using WDW Envy and 32ct Pumpkin gorgeous fabric for this one...

1 day and 530 stitches in. Love it. Doing them individually. Really love the way the green looks at the orange which of course won't photograph well at all haha.

Wednesday was time for 2 weeks in Peppermint Purple SAL...

32ct Platinum Lugana for this one. Weeks 29 & 30 added now. I really enjoy working on this one. Thanks Faith for telling me about it.

After that was my first Christmas spin from Jeremiah. Christmas Lantern. A Mill Hill Kit. I actually ended up finishing this after 295 more stitches...

Added to my finishes tab above if you would like more information. Thursday Christmas Truck was spun and I fell in love with it this time...

This is a Vervaco kit and I added 500 stitches to the natural Aida that came with the kit...

Friday was A Type of Christmas by Erin Elizabeth. Added 363...

Saturday was Noel Gnomes by Jardin Prive. Added 266 after having a fun family day out...

This one is begging to be finished soon.

Sunday was Creepy Christmas Village by Lola Crow....

Love this ornament set. Just soo cute.

So it was a fun full stitching week. Horrible hot still in Indiana. Extreme Heat Warning. Fun. That does lead to lots of stitching time though. Even the dog doesn't want to go out. I don't blame him. I hope everyone has a great week ahead. Love yourself. Good luck stitching all the things.

July 21st Monday Update

So much to talk about. Please head over to my Flosstube to watch a full coverage video. If you are interested. Link on the right side.

Let's see what I worked on last week...

Monday and Tuesday was Yggdrasil days. Added 561 total to it...

I have reached the top of the tree and I'm so excited to see some greens or whatever to go in.

Wednesday was time for the doomed Summer Quaker by Primrose Cottage. After last week the huge section that I miscounted this time I almost run out of fabric on the bottom right side. I don't know why this piece sure doesn't want stitched haha. Using DMC 125 for this one...

I should have enough to finish into a pillow at least. Crazy mistakes with this one.

 Thursday was a kitting day.

Friday was Ragnarok my new Long Dog Sampler to stitch along with a friend's birthday. She was started a new Long Dog. Using 3818 for this one...

Saturday and Sunday I attended my first Lindy Stitches event Midsummer Stitch. It was a lot of fun. It's crazy to get recognized now because of being on Flosstube. The compliments make me blush but they are so sweet. I appreciate it so much. I got to meet a few new people and had a really nice time overall. I think I will attend the September one if I have nothing else going on. Fred was so sweet and gave me the weekend completely off so I got a TON of stitching done.

1,576 and that finished off Colorful Eagle by Kitty & Me!!!!

So Wohoo a Finish!!! In honor of that or really just because on Thursday I kitted up 6 new soon to be started pieces...

Several of them have start dates planned. I can't wait. First up is the one in the bottom right in honor of a friend's birthday. I also got this adorable piece off a destash group...

It was dated 1998 so same age as Jeremiah.....vintage haha.

So much to do. So much fun planned. I can't wait. Let's go stitch!!!

Love yourself. Smile. Stitch all the things!!!!

Mar 10th Monday Update

Hello blogworld. How are you all doing here? Flosstube is just crazy. I have 399 followers now which is just crazy. I love the comments and honestly that's what I missed about here. I was glad to see some of you watching me. But I don't want to stop being here as well. #7 is loading now so I can post here while I wait.

Monday and Tuesday I worked on Along the Nesting Boxes by Jardin Prive. Remember I'm doing this one two fence posts a month all year this year. I finished the March section Tuesday. Total time was 4 days and 1,217 total stitches. Here is a zoomed in for just March and the whole piece now...

Tuesday when I finished that one I pulled out Mother Nature: Winter from Just Cross Stitch Feb 2023 issue. I will be doing the 6 piece series sometime in my life hopefully haha. Not promising this month but sometime....hopefully haha. Anyway Tuesday and Wednesday was Day 6 and 7. Here she is now...

I just had to backstitch the antlers to admire the beauty. I'm working on the top half and then I'll switch to the bottom page.

Thursday I added two weeks to the Peppermint Purple 2025 SAL. Weeks 9 and 10. Here is a closeup and the whole piece. Still in the DMC 155 section...

After that was done I pulled out Mason Jar Lineup by Dimensions. Still on jar 3 of the 10. I'm Day 10 on this one...

Friday was time for Heart & Compass by Erica Michaels. I added 23 more rows to the background on Friday. Saturday after some running around I got started and stayed up till 3:30am to finish it haha...

LOVE IT!!! Took 7 Days. 3,187 stitches on the 40ct silk gauze. This is my 7th silk gauze finish. Many more to come. Thank you to mom for purchasing all these beauties when she did. The background thread is dark but it shows up so much better in person. I do enjoy the overall design. Next up to replace this one is another patriotic. I did have to laugh at the 4 Seasons Winter one I have in my WIP tote that is Erica Michaels...

See that small section of background left?? That's all!! Why did I leave this so long!! I also went down the rabbit hole of looking through my blog for info on these. I planned in 2019 to finish all 4 seasons. Didn't work did it? Haha. Love blog grand plans when you look back. Failed Katie haha.

Anyway I'm hoping to get this out soon and actually *cough cough* finish it. Duh and then start another season already. Not saying I will finish them all this year....I learned that lesson haha. Hi Future Katie haha.

Sunday was Beer Dragon and I got a sad 100 added...

Campground was invaded by visitors and I spent time doing everything but stitching. Oh well that's okay. They are excited for the temps to start warming up. This week we might hit 70 degrees.

Anyway I will keep it out to hit the 500 required monthly amount before moving on.

Saturday we went up to Fort Wayne. It was the 2nd Saturday of the month so time for a stitching get together at the store there...

8 of us. Thanks Fred for grabbing the picture for us. After that we went out to eat at a restaurant we used to LOVE and it was delicious. Fred stopped at a new cigar place. It was high class he said so expensive but he was glad he checked it out anyway. Then we drove by the old house. What a mix of emotions. It does look like a family moved in and they have made some changes. It was sad and yet nice to know a family is enjoying our old home. We happily made our way back to our country happiness though after. I honestly much prefer country life instead of those big fancy houses.

Okay finally caught up. Love yourself. Find all the excuses to smile. See ya next week.

Flosstube #4

Hello anyone still over here. I think most of you are watching which is just awesome. I'm so glad I did the Flosstube. I'm really enjoying it a lot. We laughed our way through this one haha.

I do have my 5th finish...

Feb 14th
Irish Blessing
By Herrschners
Stitched on 32ct Antique White Belfast Linen
Using Suggested DMC
Started May 29, 2024. Took 10 Days.
2,799 Total Stitches.

So far I'm doing good about not going over the 60 WIPs. I finished 5....started 4. I'm using this last finish to place hold my WIP list for the upcoming Lola Crow SAL. I've never joined one and I'm really excited to try it. It's bird themed and I'm looking forward to it. I've loved birds my whole life so how fun. I loved her aquarium one and one day just might have to get it and stitch it.

I hope everyone is okay with me posting the video instead of sharing all the photos here. The video making, editing, and that stuff takes a lot of time so by now I just really want to go stitch haha. Come join me on the dark side.....we have videos haha. If I can do it anyone can.

Hello all. I'm back with another Monday check in. Now on Flosstube. Here is video number 3...

 Here is my Channel

I had one finish this week...

When I think of... Winter by Puntini Puntini. I will start Spring after March 20th. So I will mark off a finish and replace it right away haha. I did find two can't live without new patterns this last week too haha.

Anyway I want to get off here and get to stitching. I know I am doing smaller updates here. Not a lot of comments going on and hopefully you can follow my videos easily. Thanks for stopping by.

Flosstube #2

Wow Wow Wow what a crazy turnout for my flosstube. Every like, comment, and subscribe just had me screaming out loud. Then I got a shout out from a flosstube that I consider like royalty CZook. Wow!

So I did it again today. My Monday update. So please stop over to see me talk about my two finishes from last week. Winter SAL and Winter Quaker.

Find my Channel Here

So two WIPs marked off my WIP list but I added the Spring Quaker which I will start after March 20th. I also shared my 6 new pattern I received in the mail. I'm not adding them just yet to my WIP tote. Let me get some more finishing done first haha.

I am so happy I finally got the courage up to do my own flosstube. Crazy. I wonder what will come of it. Who knows!!!

Jan 20th Monday Update

Brr from cold cold Indiana. Right now actual temp is 0 feels like -9 with the wind chill. We are under a Cold Weather Advisory till Wednesday when we might make it to 20s. So a lot of stitching going on. Even Spike would rather be inside under a blanket. So let's see what stitching I got done last week with my warm needles haha.

Still doing Brringo in Monthly Magazine Challenge group. So a prompt each day to work around.

Monday -- Prompt Non US Designer. I looked it up and Mother Nature: Winter was designed by Stitchora which is from Abu Dhabi interestingly enough so I added 200 to her. I fall more and more in love with her every stitch...

Tuesday -- Prompt Relates to your name. So I celebrated my Irish heritage and pulled out Luck of the Irish by Primrose which I was close to a finish on. Added 454 and was able to finish it...

My first 2025 finish. Wohoo! Will be adding information to my 2025 Finishes Page. In honor of my first finish I decided to start a new Mill Hill kit...

Christmas Lantern. Added 302 to it...

Wednesday - Prompt Length of your Favorite Movie. That answer changes every other few minutes haha. I picked Moulin Rouge because it stays my favorite a lot of times. I love a great musical and ohhh the music in that one. The length was 2 hours 7 minutes. I overachieved and hit 571 which also met my monthly goal...

Thursday - Prompt was a fun one. Roll a dice and stitch that many motifs or elements on the design of your choice. Jeremiah rolled a 3 which was a nice middle number thanks bub haha. I pulled out Noel Gnomes by Jardin Prive because it was easy to see the motifs added. I finished the little mushroom house. Added the Christmas Tree, two snowflakes, and a start on the next little motif with the presents before bedtime. 760 total added...

Friday - Prompt Monochromatic. That's perfect for Primrose Cottage Quaker's and I have 4 on my goal list for the year so started Winter Quaker...

I'm using a DMC variegated 93. I got the 100 needed for the Brringo challenge and then put it away for now. I really wanted to see if I could complete a goal for another challenge. I needed 500 added to my Oldest WIP which is Grow Together HAED. Sometimes the confetti makes it go really slow so I didn't know if it would work or not. Luckily it was International Hermit Stitch Weekend. We did run out Saturday to grab groceries but I hurried haha.

So 63 Friday. 137 Saturday. 330 Sunday hit 530 total. Wohoo!

Saturday prompt worked because it was Will Be Gifted and Grow Together will go to my son when it's finished. Sunday prompt was Someone Chooses for you and Jeremiah said You're close to the goal mom Go Go.

A lot of confetti haha. Here is my Brringo board now...

This has definitely been a fun challenge. I didn't join in last year since I had just joined the group and I've sure enjoyed playing along. They do another one in September with letters so it's ABCingo. Instead of prompts you put letters and pick a project to match the letter. It's fun as well. I do seem to enjoy a prompt challenge though most the time.

Poor Jeremiah still has the ick it just won't leave him alone. He is a lot lot better though. So hopefully soon. Fred and me are fine now. Luckily Fred only had a little version of this whatever it was.

Okay I'm off to stitch and stay warm haha. Only planned thing is to run quickly and do laundry tonight. Brr but it won't wait for warmer weather so we must do it.

Dec 16th Monday Update

Hello another Monday. Just one more Monday till Christmas!!! Wow! So much to do. First let's see what stitching I got done last week.

Monday was Day 4 on Creepy Christmas Village Spooky Christmas Tree. I added 125 and then 8 more Tuesday morning haha...

I needed to hit a challenge goal. Then I sit it down. Tuesday was Noel Gnomes Day 4. Wednesday was Day 5. I added 325 Tue and 75 Wed...

After hitting my goal it was time for a new start. A friend told me about this fun Advent Mystery SAL on FB and Instagram. The designer was releasing one part a day with about 70 stitches. She was stitching it with a pretty thread on black and I thought that would be fun. When I was at the LNS in Northern Indiana I grabbed a pretty Caron Waterlilies called Holiday. Here is the info on the SAL...

Here is my Day 3 progress now...

I just love the way it's turning out. Day 1 Wednesday I added 600 trying to catch up. Thursday I caught up with 236 more added.

After catching up I pulled out Hedgehogs in the Snow Stoney Creek...

Here is where I was with it. I started this one in Dec 2022. Worked on it 3 days in 2022, 6 days in 2023, and only 1 day in Feb this year.

Thursday I added 264. Friday I added 411. Sunday after adding 406 more. It was done!

Love the way it turned out. My 33rd finish for this year! I had a quick glance. That's the most finished since 2019. 2019 I finished 45 though a lot was small that year. 19 - 2020, 11 - 2021, 14 - 2022, 24 - 2023. So I'm happy happy with my progress this year. Wonder what next year will bring?

Saturday we went to Kokomo for more Christmas shopping. We had a lot of fun but we made a ton of stops and I was exhausted by the time we got home. But I can't wait for Christmas. Jeremiah is being spoiled rotten as always haha. I did find one thing he doesn't know about which made me really excited. He's old enough that he helps find his video games so I love finding something secret for him.

We have so much to do between now and Christmas but I am planning on taking my time and enjoying life as well. I will get it done.....somehow haha. I do hope you are finding everything you need and figuring out what to do when to get ready.

Nov 11th Monday Update - 3 Finishes

Another Monday update with a lot to talk about. Grab a cup of your favorite beverage and let's see what I've been up to this last week.

Monday and Tuesday it was time to finish up Autumn Line Up...

Finish #29 November 5th
Autumn Line Up
by The Trilogy
Fabric 32ct Lambswool
Threads Suggested DMC
Started Sep 22nd. Took 8 Days.
2,962 Stitches Total

Whole Set Took 37 Days. 13,261 Stitches Total.

After finishing that one I decided to finish Halloween Quaker. So Tuesday and Wednesday I worked on it. Finished it up Wednesday...

Finish #30 November 6th
Halloween Quaker
by Primrose Cottage
Fabric 32ct Country Mocha Lugana
Threads 2 Called For 2 Changed
Started Sep 4th. Took 11 Days.
3,447 Stitches Total.

After those two finishes I spun the Tiny Decisions app and it was time for a new start...

Noel Chez Les Gnomes (Translated as Christmas Among the Gnomes) Nicknamed Noel Gnomes. Using 32ct Lt Mocha Lugana and the suggested DMC threads. My first Jardin Prive and I really enjoy her charts. They are easy to read and easy to see what backstitching is meant where. I started in the upper left corner. Here it is now after Wednesday and Thursday 702 stitches...

Friday I spun Christmas Celebration and wondered if I could finish it too. I worked on it Friday and Sunday...

Finish #31 November 10th
Christmas Celebration Sampler
by The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery
Fabric 32ct Meadowlark Linen
Threads Suggested DMC
Started Nov 28, 2018. Took 24 Days Total.
12 Days this Year. 4,796 stitches this year.
Rest were before I counted stitches.

Saturday we had a busy day. First up was a visit to my LNS in Fort Wayne for the 2nd Saturday Stitch Group. I took Enchanted Pumpkin Mill Hill kit because it was easy to work on. I added 219 while there...

Also picked up my framed pieces...

Butch did fantastic with the Erica Michaels piece. It turned out wonderful! The Soda Stitch seasonal set can be swapped out to the one frame. The white frame looks perfect with each one.

I also found a clearance chart I loved and some fabric to add to my stash...

I just love the saying on the right one. So true! I also bought fabric for my 2025 Seasonal Set...

I bought these charts in 2020 when they were released at Market. My plans was to do them in 2021. Guess I didn't haha. So I bought 32ct Lt Taupe Lugana for them and will do them next year during the seasons like the Line Ups this year.

After my stitching fun we headed out to start Christmas shopping. We went to Half Price books, Darlington a fun Christmas market where you never know what they will have, stopped to get hair cuts, and got Spike a bag full of treats at a pet store. It was a lovely day out together. This past week my dad made sure to take us to vote Tuesday. We went to a local fire station that I was around a lot when I was a kid so it made it so special to me. Ran into a family member from mom's family. It was a great day. Jeremiah said he was proud to be an American that's for sure. I know it's causing a lot of issues but I have a lot of hope and just wish United States could become United again. We have been divided for too long. Off my soapbox now.

Have a great week. Love yourself. Smile as often as possible. I'm off to stitch ALL the things haha.
