Nov 11th Monday Update - 3 Finishes

Another Monday update with a lot to talk about. Grab a cup of your favorite beverage and let's see what I've been up to this last week.

Monday and Tuesday it was time to finish up Autumn Line Up...

Finish #29 November 5th
Autumn Line Up
by The Trilogy
Fabric 32ct Lambswool
Threads Suggested DMC
Started Sep 22nd. Took 8 Days.
2,962 Stitches Total

Whole Set Took 37 Days. 13,261 Stitches Total.

After finishing that one I decided to finish Halloween Quaker. So Tuesday and Wednesday I worked on it. Finished it up Wednesday...

Finish #30 November 6th
Halloween Quaker
by Primrose Cottage
Fabric 32ct Country Mocha Lugana
Threads 2 Called For 2 Changed
Started Sep 4th. Took 11 Days.
3,447 Stitches Total.

After those two finishes I spun the Tiny Decisions app and it was time for a new start...

Noel Chez Les Gnomes (Translated as Christmas Among the Gnomes) Nicknamed Noel Gnomes. Using 32ct Lt Mocha Lugana and the suggested DMC threads. My first Jardin Prive and I really enjoy her charts. They are easy to read and easy to see what backstitching is meant where. I started in the upper left corner. Here it is now after Wednesday and Thursday 702 stitches...

Friday I spun Christmas Celebration and wondered if I could finish it too. I worked on it Friday and Sunday...

Finish #31 November 10th
Christmas Celebration Sampler
by The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery
Fabric 32ct Meadowlark Linen
Threads Suggested DMC
Started Nov 28, 2018. Took 24 Days Total.
12 Days this Year. 4,796 stitches this year.
Rest were before I counted stitches.

Saturday we had a busy day. First up was a visit to my LNS in Fort Wayne for the 2nd Saturday Stitch Group. I took Enchanted Pumpkin Mill Hill kit because it was easy to work on. I added 219 while there...

Also picked up my framed pieces...

Butch did fantastic with the Erica Michaels piece. It turned out wonderful! The Soda Stitch seasonal set can be swapped out to the one frame. The white frame looks perfect with each one.

I also found a clearance chart I loved and some fabric to add to my stash...

I just love the saying on the right one. So true! I also bought fabric for my 2025 Seasonal Set...

I bought these charts in 2020 when they were released at Market. My plans was to do them in 2021. Guess I didn't haha. So I bought 32ct Lt Taupe Lugana for them and will do them next year during the seasons like the Line Ups this year.

After my stitching fun we headed out to start Christmas shopping. We went to Half Price books, Darlington a fun Christmas market where you never know what they will have, stopped to get hair cuts, and got Spike a bag full of treats at a pet store. It was a lovely day out together. This past week my dad made sure to take us to vote Tuesday. We went to a local fire station that I was around a lot when I was a kid so it made it so special to me. Ran into a family member from mom's family. It was a great day. Jeremiah said he was proud to be an American that's for sure. I know it's causing a lot of issues but I have a lot of hope and just wish United States could become United again. We have been divided for too long. Off my soapbox now.

Have a great week. Love yourself. Smile as often as possible. I'm off to stitch ALL the things haha.

Sept 9th Monday Update

I've been busy stitching like a maniac this week. Having a blast with my challenges. I posted Tuesday since it was Labor Day Monday but let's see what I've been working on since then.

Tuesday I got my 100 for Q on Canine (Q)uotes for ABCingo in the Magazine Monthly Challenge group on Facebook...

Not huge progress but 100 is 100 less for later. I went back to Irish Blessing and added 211 more for Dashgo in Fandom FB group points...

I'm on the bottom page now of the two pages. Love it! 7 Days into this one now.

Wednesday ABCingo was H and Dashgo was Ocean so it was a 2 project day. First up a new start for H that I was really excited to start...

I bought this one on my stash run to Always in Stitches with my stitching friends when they camped here last month. I kitted up with what the store had so changed a few of the threads. Fabric is my fav 32ct Vintage Country Mocha. Looks so pretty with these designs. The spider web was a pain to stitch but I love the way it looks now. I added 105 for the letter H.

After that I pulled out Simple Treasures a Dimensions Kit which is perfect for the Ocean prompt. I added 237 Wed and 380 on Thursday. The ABCingo for Thursday was U and I said Simple Treasures was a Ultimate Unique Souvenir from our vacation so it worked haha. I finished the section I was working on except for the backstitching...

Friday Dashgo was piece that takes mental discipline. ABCingo was J. So a 2 project day again. First up Mushroom Gnome a (J)im Shore Mill Hill kit for J. Added 100 so I could mark the letter complete...

For mental discipline I picked Beer Dragon. I really really want to finish him in my lifetime so I'm making myself work on him at least 500 stitches a month. Ended with 538 between Friday and Saturday...

ABCingo for Saturday was W so I pulled out Patriotic Gnome Littles by (W)axing Moon. Ended up with 229 added...

Sunday was the final Dashgo call Gloves. ABCingo was C. I checked all over Christmas Celebration Sampler by Frosted Pumpkin and the little kids in the C block have earmuffs and gloves on so it fits for both. Added 500 before bedtime...

I think this one just might be finished this month. We'll see. So Dashgo is done. I really enjoyed it and I'm proud that I didn't start a bunch of WIPs just to fit the prompts.

I finished 14 of the 23 prompts. Scored 204 Points for Team Goofy. So I'm happy with that. No Bingo wins but again that's okay. I didn't have the bottom left 2 people because I don't like stitching people haha. The 3rd one on the bottom was cow. Again no cows on my WIPs. I found some freebies but just didn't want to start something just for the challenge. Maybe next time. For my first time I enjoyed it a lot definitely. Now I can focus on the ABCingo...

This one is definitely easier because pretty much anything fits haha. They love creative connections for the letters too. Most the time it's just narrowing down which one I would like to use from my SCREAMING WIPs haha. Today is O so I'm pulling out Owe Them All by Erica Michaels.

It's eye doctor week. Jeremiah's insurance makes us go two separate times because he is getting tests and then a vision check. So stupid. But that's okay it is what it is. I really hope after this time they switch to farther apart appointments needed because she's been doing them very frequently to get an understanding of Jeremiah which is nice just annoying since I don't drive. We arranged with Dad for rides though so should be okay. Bev is still doing fine for now. Scary with all the flu going around because the flu would be very dangerous for Bev.

Weather wise. We had almost record breaking lows over the weekend. It was just beautiful. Now we have a roller coaster week with record breaking high 90's again but like 50's at night. No wonder everyone is getting sick. We are in a drought yet again and our poor yard is turning brown. Plus the poor pond is dropping level again. Supposedly it's going to be wet winter but of course they have said that like 8 years now haha.

It was a nice lazy weekend after 5 busy ones in a row. So that was really nice. Means more stitching time haha. Anyway have a great week ahead. Love yourself. Smile as often as possible.

Sept 3rd Tuesday Update

Labor day weekend we had a full campground so today you get a Tuesday update instead of Monday. Let's see what I did last week.

After my last post we loaded up and headed up to Shipshewana where my mom sold for 17 years. It's a large outdoor flea market in an Amish town in northern Indiana. We went up Monday and stayed the night so we could be there when the market opened on Tuesday morning. It was forecast to be record breaking heat of course. I told Fred it would either snow, storm, or be hot if he took a random Tuesday off work so we could go. We stayed at a hotel and had a nice evening just relaxing. Tuesday morning the market opened at 8 am and we got there soon after. This was Spike's first time there and he really enjoyed it and yet again amazed us at how well behaved he was. We stopped at every covered sitting area and gave him ice water to drink and let him rest. He was ready to keep going every time. Luckily they have loose rocks and not pavement so the ground was cool enough to not bother his feet. We had a great time overall. Of course it was emotional because there were several people my mom was friends with so we stopped to talk about her and how much we miss her. Some tears were shed. But everyone was so glad to see us.

I found several new hand made gnomes to add to my collection. Fred found some tools. We found some kitchen goodies and other odds and ends. It was a fantastic time and really didn't get too hot till the last row. We were sure happy to get in the AC and come home though haha. Quick stop at an Amish meat and cheese store before heading home. Yum!

When I got home I was happy to pick up my stitching again. Dashgo call 17 was Musical Instrument and I didn't have any WIPs that worked so I worked on Irish Blessing...

Wednesday I pulled out Beer Dragon for his monthly 500. Finishing up Thursday morning...

Here is the whole thing now...

Dashgo 18 was Beads so after putting the last of the 500 in Beer Dragon I pulled out Enchanted Pumpkin Mill Hill. 284 Thursday and 610 Friday waiting for people to arrive for the holiday weekend...

Saturday the Dashgo 19 call was WIP based on a Holiday. I didn't steal time from everyone here. It was a lovely weekend with Bev's extended family as they host a family reunion here on Labor Day weekend. We had a sea of tents and campers. Soooo many kids haha. What a perfect place for them to run and be safe.

Sunday ABCingo started with X called. So I knew if I could just get 100 stitches Christmas Celebration Sampler would work for Dashgo and ABCingo so I snuck in the cabin and got a quick 104 added...

Monday I was called for ABCingo and Dashgo 20 was a WIP we would like to finish this year. So Irish Blessing came back out. 304 added...

So I will have a letter everyday till the 25th and the last Dashgo calls Wed, Fri, and Sun this week. Wonder what the last 3 will be? Today's ABCingo is Q so I'm going to use Canine (Q)uotes for it. Then back to Irish Blessing after the 100 for more points for Dashgo.

I hope everyone has a great week. Find reasons to smile. Love yourself. Hugs.

Aug 26th Monday Update

We are off on another mini trip today but wanted to get my update in before we head out. Let's see what I worked on last week...

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday seemed to blend into one long day. I worked on Yggdrasil by Paine Free Crafts. I ended up with 340 added

Monday was Dashgo call 13 of 23 Too Heavy to Life Above your Head. Yggdrasil definitely worked for that. 14 was Cow and I have no WIPs with cows so just kept plugging away on Yggdrasil another day.

Thursday I worked on Enchanted Pumpkin Mill Hill Kit and added 255...

Friday call 15 was Bow & Arrow and again no WIP with that so I worked on Forever in Peace by Sweet Wing Studio. Added 381...

Saturday was a busy day. Sunday Dashgo 16 was Sampler. I have one piece with sampler in the title Christmas Celebration Sampler by Frosted Pumpkin so I added 300 to it...

Thursday a friend brought their camper over to stay for the weekend. Two stitching friends and one of their hubby's. It was a wonderful time. Friday the 3 of us girls went on a road trip to Noblesville, Indiana little more than an hour away to a stitching store called Always in Stitches. For all those who know me know how much I needed more projects. So I knew I wanted a piece of fabric to replace a kit Aida piece. Here is my haul...

4 new projects anyway haha. I just LOVE the saying on the Sweet Wing Studio. So perfect. The dark fabric is for the Mason Jar Lineup Dimension kit I got at the stash sale. I think it will look just gorgeous on the darker fabric. The top fabric is 32ct Vintage Country Mocha which I like to use on a lot of pieces including the new Halloween Quaker at the bottom so I bought threads so I could start this one pretty soon. The Quaker and the Mason Jar lineup are sure yelling loudly for attention so watch for that soon I'm sure haha. Like I need new starts haha. In the evening we sat on our deck and stitched. It was a lovely visit...

Saturday we did up 115 more freezer bags of corn. The girls had fun helping and each got some corn as a reward of course. They have already said they would like to do this again next year so I'm very glad to hear that.

Well I need to get off this computer and finish getting ready. I'll update you on all our fun next Monday. Have a great week. Love yourself. Smile as often as possible.

Jul 22nd Monday Update

Lots to talk about. First let's see what I worked on last week.

Monday and Tuesday I worked on Christmas Celebration Sampler from Frosted Pumpkin. Finished the next section the M section and some more border...

I added 784 stitches in the two days. I really hope to finish this one this year. We'll see about that.

Wednesday I hit my monthly goal on Patriotic Gnome Littles by Waxing Moon...

It was used for a prompt challenge with the prompt Stars.

After hitting my goal on that one I picked up Colorful Eagle by Kitty & Me. Worked on it till I hit my goal Friday of 400 stitches...and then some haha. I actually put in 776 total...

My needle just fell in love and I couldn't put him down. I finished the left page and started the right page. Love him so much.

Over the weekend it was IHSW (International Hermit Stitch Weekend). I always have great plans and then I got a whopping 351 stitches Saturday and Sunday haha. That's okay we had fun and visited with family instead. I picked up Yggdrasil again. I have a goal of 500 a month on it. No luck but there is still time in the month...

Just love the details in that corner. Beautiful. Just takes forever haha. It will sure be worth it though.

Plans. I have 4 acrostic picks to finish. So I'm hoping to work on those this week. Mushroom Gnome Mill Hill Kit, The Mandalorian, Lady Liberty, and Irish Blessing. My major problem. I keep joining challenges haha. I am in so many stitching game groups now. I have a group of girls that just keep forcing me to join new things haha. Fandom is a new fun stitching group. This year it's based on Disney. Starting July 26th  (which is also the start of the Instagram Olympics Challenge haha) through Sept 9th they are doing a Dashgo challenge (Dash from Incredibles movie). Every 2 days a number gets picked. There are different levels. The top level you use prompts they provide. Every 100 stitches gets 3pts for your team. So I have it ready to go. I made myself a promise not to get projects to fit the prompts I don't have which are a few prompts. But I have some prompts that will be fun to work on...

Minimum needed 100 stitches to mark off the square. I also joined the weekly challenge but that will help me hit my goals on my last acrostics. Really it's fun because most the time the projects work for multiple games so it's just an extra push to stitch fast haha. I am really enjoying it a lot and honestly don't feel pressure at all. The games are very clear that it's for fun so the points are just an extra fun things to work toward. Progress is what really matters and life still has to be lived....WHAT?! LOL I'm sure Fred would understand doing all the household chores so I could just stitch nonstop right? LOL So another plan I had is to try to not give in to peer pressure and join more challenges. I say that now.....Sure haha.

Yesterday I got all my cooking stuff back out and made 18 more zucchini muffins.....YUMMY...

Trying to make this last all week. Boy it was hard not to eat them all last night haha. They smell so good. I did have some for breakfast this morning.....YUMMY!

Family Update. Grandpa is still holding on. Which is hard on everyone. I really hope he can rest and be at peace soon. Some family wants him around and honestly that's selfish. He won't be well again. No chance. It's so hard to see him suffer now. We wouldn't let an animal suffer like this. So I hope he can rest like he deserves to. Bev is doing great. She is still on a Chemo pill for a little bit longer but she seems to be doing well right now. They have a trip planned for beginning of August since her 60th bday is the 2nd. I really hope she stays well enough to be able to go and enjoy her time. Jeremiah is excited as well to go along. We also have a little weekend getaway planned Fred and I. We haven't done that since mom was around. So here's hoping all health things can be okay for the weekend break.

I did have something happen to myself. I noticed I had a lump that was getting very painful. Friday I was in a lot of pain. I woke up 5am Saturday morning in tears. So I knew something had to be done. I woke Fred up and told him I need to go to the walk in clinic. I told the sweet doctor if you can't do anything I will go to the emergency room. She said my options were an antibiotic and wait a few days or lance it. I said just do it. The lidocaine injection was extremely painful but once that was done it was relief. It was an abscess and I'm glad I got it taken care of. She did put me on antibiotics for a week to make sure I don't develop an infection. It is still painful but I'm doing better every day. I told the lady in tears my body is turning against me these last few years. Just sucks. I have really bad tendonitis in not one but both my wrists. The right one is finally doing a little better but wow. Ouch. Anyway I will hide in my stitching and just wish all pains would stop for everyone I care about including myself.

Hugs. Have a great week. Love yourself. Find any reason to smile.

Jun 10th Monday Update

Fred has this week off so I have no idea what day it is. But according to my phone it's Monday so here's a Monday update haha. Let's see what I worked on last week.

Monday I worked on Patriotic Gnome Littles by Waxing Moon Designs. Finished the one I was working on Balloon Girl and started Celebrate Gnome the bottom middle guy...

Tuesday was spent on Christmas Celebration Sampler from Frosted Pumpkin. I started and finished the T block and added more to the right side border...

Wednesday I got the 300 needed for Halloween Potions by Les Petites Croix De Lucie for the month...

After I finished that I pulled out Beer Dragon by Paine Free Crafts. I wanted to add 500 for the month. Thursday I completed those stitches. I'm Day 98 into this beauty now...

Friday I worked on Taurus Mill Hill Kit. Added 400 for my monthly goal. Close to a finish now...

Saturday I got out All American by Primrose Cottage. Time to finish it off. Maybe today. After 814 Saturday and 624 Sunday this is all I have left...

The bottom part from the WHITE square is all what I added. It really goes quickly. I enjoy this one a lot and definitely have a love for Primrose designs after this beauty.

Saturday Fred took me up to Fort Wayne to the LNS (local needlework store). A friend has a stitch day from 9:30 till 12:30. I think there was 10 or 11 of us. I really enjoyed my time visiting with the girls. Fred runs off to do some of his own things in case you were wondering haha. Then we came back and Fred mowed here so that helped me get lots of stitching time Saturday.

Sunday we were doing some work here with my dad. Spike has been doing really well off leash for short times so I let him off. He ran to the pond and then darted into the woods right by us. Several minutes went by and he didn't pop out to see where I was like normal. So I started calling for him. Nothing. We all started looking for him after 20 minutes. I was one worried dog mom. Then I saw a deer pop out of the woods by the pond. Yep Spike was hunting that darn deer. So thankfully after about 30 minutes he popped back to get a drink from the pond and tell me how much fun he was having. I grabbed him and told him he scared me to death. Least he came back sooner than later.

So the band we have every year is coming this Saturday the 15th. Lots of do. So that's why Fred took off work. Then since he's off I got some appointments scheduled and now we have a crazy full week haha. But today the chores are done so I need to get off here and STITCH.

Have a great week. Love yourself. Smile!
