March WIPocalypse

Today is a full moon so that means it's time for a WIPocalypse update. I like to look at what I've been working on since the last update and see what progress I've made.

I love working on several different pieces as you can tell. So let's see What's Up...

Year of Whimsy -- 5 Days worked on. Last check in I was still working on Feb. Here is where I was...
I got it all finished up...
I also finished March...
Spring Bell Pull -- 2 Days worked on. Here is where I was...
Here is where I am now..
Seaside Squared -- 3 days to finish up. Here it is now finished...
So tiny! Love it!!
HAED Hope -- Worked on 3 Days. Here is where I was...
I got another 2 columns completed...
Christmas Treasures Set of 4 -- Worked on 4 days. Finished the first one...
This is a Jodyri Thread I received in a giveaway called Tulip Garden. Love how it turned out.
Inner Tube by Mill Hill - Worked on 1 day. Here is where I am now...
HAED Dragon Skies - 3 Days worked on. Totally forgot about this one. Here is what it will look like when finished and where I am now...
Then I had a new start....my first Tilton Crafts piece. Aquatic Maiden. I received it in a giveaway and worked on it 4 Days. Here is what it will look like and where I am now...

I have 2,800 stitches in now. She's on 32ct sage evenweave 1 thread over 1 complete x. I'm so in love with working on her I really don't want to put her down. But the Spring Bell Pull and Hope are calling loudly from the sidelines.

We are also asked questions for each check in. This month's question is March  23- Topic: Do you use hoops, stretcher bars, lap stands or Q snap frames and why? (via CathieJ)

I use Q-Snaps and can't imagine life without them. I love my fabric to be held really tight when I stitch. I tried a lap stand once but just didn't like the feeling of it so I just hold it in my hand. I also use Q-Snap covers. I just found a new source for them... https://www.etsy.com/shop/StormbornBoutique. I ordered two new ones this morning. I just love decorating my Q-Snaps haha. I think they deserve bling too.

Okay well I look forward to the next check in. Wonder what I will work on till then?!?

IHSW Update / Winner Announced

First things first I have a winner to announce for the giveaway I hosted. I printed the names off and Jeremiah picked out the lucky winner...

Congrats! I look forward to watching you stitch this one up and hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Now let's talk about IHSW (International Hermit Stitch Weekend). I started my Aquatic Maiden and boy she was fun to work on. I've noticed there are not near as many color changes as on my HAEDs so that's a nice change. But still a lot of different shades of the same color. So I present to you my navy blue blob...
I was able to stitch all 3 days. Friday I got 800 stitches in! Saturday we ran to the store so I ended with 600 in. Sunday we did our putting decorations away fast so I got another 800 in! So 2,200 total for the 3 days. Not bad at all!! I went to take her off my Q-Snaps but she's going to stay on at least another day.

Linking up to the Monday Stitchery Link Party. She has these adorable embroidery freebies each week. It's fun to see what other projects people have been working on. Stop over and check it out.

We have a busy week getting ready for Easter. Even though it's just our household we will make it a special day. Hope everyone reading this has a great week.

IHSW

This is the 3rd weekend of the month which means it's International Hermit Stitch Weekend (IHSW). It's time to settle down and get some major stitching done. Tell your chores they can wait till Monday. Let's stitch!! I'm going to blame IHSW for a perfect excuse for a new start. We all know I need another WIP haha. Here she is all ready to start...
The sweet Heather was kind enough to host a giveaway for a Tilton Craft pattern. They are a lot like HAED so I figured I would enjoy them. I saw this pattern and just fell in love. Look at all those beautiful blues and purples. The fabric is a 32ct sage. We have just a few things to do tomorrow but other than that I should be able to stitch away.

Also I wanted to remind everyone I'm hosting a giveaway. The chart is a fun wordplay snowman. Go here to sign up please. I will announce the winner Monday. There are only 9 people participating so your chances are pretty high.

I have another WIP update on Dragon Skies before she goes away...
I ended with 5,126 stitches in. All white and Kreinik. I gotta admit I'm looking forward to color today haha. Enjoy your weekend!

Feb Whimsy Update and I won!

I figured I would stop in with an update on the Feb Year of Whimsy. Slowly but surely I'm making progress. I just had to get the little kitty face put in so he could smile at me.

I've been a follower of Heather's blog for awhile now. I just LOVE watching her progress on her gorgeous Paradise piece she's stitching up. She hosted another giveaway. I won one awhile ago where I received 2 ABSOLUTELY fabulous pieces of dyed fabrics. This time it was for a design from Tilton Crafts. I had never looked at their website. It's similar to HAED type designs. I entered the drawing and WON! I can't believe it. Mom told me maybe I should buy a lottery ticket haha. Here is the one I picked out...
She's called Aquatic Maiden. Yep you all know I need another project! LOL I need to learn to stitch faster. Oh or if I could figure out how to work on 10 projects at the same time at least!
