Patriotic Eagle WIP

I posted the freebie for this pattern in my last entry and for whatever reason I just had to stitch it. It's such a gorgeous design. I'm doing this piece on 28ct Sage Jobelan. I decided to do him over one. I just love how delicate it turns out that way. He is not even 3 inches tall this way.

So I finally broke down and bought the 50 Shades of Grey book. I think it's funny how huge these books have became. I've read books in this category before so I don't really understand the focus on these particular books. Sam's Club had them for $10 so I finally said that's it. I'm 100some pages into the first one. It's a good book so far. A love story with some interesting topics being discussed. It seems like either people love the books or hate them. The author isn't an English major so she uses "normal" words rather than eloquent ones haha. I went back to the store yesterday to buy the last two and several people saw them and commented on the books. Mom said I should have brought a paper bag to put them in so people couldn't see them. I think that's hilarious. I don't care what people think so I joked about going to the mall food court and sitting reading them with a sign that says Yeah I'm reading the books Get Over it! LOL. Funny that a series of books gets so many people talking.

I got a lot to do this week. We leave Saturday morning for a 9 day vacation. Fred and I are going to Ohio with two great friends and doing some geocaching. Then Wednesday starts Midwest Geobash which is my crazy party camping weekend that I do once a year. It's always a total blast even though last year I was so sick the entire time and ending up getting my gall bladder surgery a few days later. Hopefully this year I can pass the being so sick part and just have fun.

Your eagle looks good, Katie.

I agree with you about the books. I don't know what the big hulla-baloo is. I've read books of the same subject and know people who live the alternative lifestyle. Too funny about going to the mall... Great idea!

Your eagle looks wonderful! Love those bright colors!

I read the free sample of 50 Shades of Gray and wasn't tempted enough to pay for it. Maybe I'll pick it up at a library some time.

Have a wonderful vacation!

The best thing about being away for so long is that I get to come back to a plethora of stunning eye candy. :D
