What a Weekend

Fred had a half day Friday. He got home and we loaded everything up and hit the road. It was brutal cold but it wasn't going to stop us from going. We drove almost 2 hours northwest. I got to stop at my favorite stitching store on the way. I got some threads and several pieces of fabric for projects I needed including 3 new HAEDs that I can't wait to start. I of course could have bought more but was trying to hurry. Friend time was needed. We started this hobby called Geocaching in 2006. It's a high tech treasure hunting game. You use a hand held GPS unit to find hidden things and you get a point for each one. Another thing we do a lot is have gatherings to share our love of the hobby. Because of this we have met some unbelievable people. Over the years we have became family. Some have gone and we've grown apart. But the ones that are still around have just grown to being so important to us. Since Jeremiah is home schooled I of course worry about him making friends. Well luckily we met a family that has a fantastic son. We all just clicked and became ridiculously close. It was his birthday so what perfect excuse to get together. We had several rooms at this hotel and it had a really nice pool area. My Dad and Step mom even surprised us and came up for the weekend. Another of our closest friends came by for Friday night and over the weekend we made countless memories. We swam on and off. We laughed the whole time! I'm so thankful for the people I was lucky enough to meet because of this hobby. Jeremiah had such a wonderful time. We just keep smiling and saying Oh remember this.....Oh remember when that happened. Now we can go back into hermit mode haha.

I'm glad you had such a fantastic weekend. It's friends like that that make life so much more special.
I noticed in your Monthly Goals widget you'd got "start 3 new HAEDs". 3??? As well as Selkie and Grow Together and Hope? Are you mad? Actually, don't answer that!! Because you have no stash page I have no idea what these will be so I'm looking forward to your next few posts even more than usual!
Oh, and well done being so restrained in the stitching store. Having the time to browse is not always a good idea. :)

I did letterboxing a few times... but people around here don't play well, and it was mostly a waste of time. Glad you have fun AND meet friends!

That sounds wonderful! I'm so glad you all had a great weekend and no wonder you had no time to stitch, but at least you had time to stash. :)

It was a great time. I keep thinking of how I wish I had took more time but I'm sure my bank account is glad I didn't haha.
