No Stress Zone

I've been doing a lot of thinking lately. I want to be more stress free. I've allowed stress to take a lot of my happiness away and I'm done letting that happen. I'm in the process of fixing things in my personal life to be more stress free. Then I started thinking about my hobby. I was joining in the new starts challenge for January. I enjoyed it last year. I did. But I could tell I was going to stress about joining this year. I want to work on what I want when I want for as long as I want. So I realized the new starts everyday for the whole month just wasn't what I wanted any more. So here's my new plan...

Do what I want when I want it. If I want to start something new. I will. If I want to work on this one. I will. If I want to put it down and work on this one. I will. One thing I am adding and I really hope I stick to it. Sometime in each week I have to put one day into my Grandpa's Family Crest piece. I want to get it done. In order to do that I have to work on it. So my weekly planner must have one time each week where it shows up on my list. I think I can handle that. I also have a year long monthly project I'm doing this year again. I hope to finish those in the month they are for like I did with the Whimsy's this year. Other than those two things. Be Happy! Be Relaxed! Enjoy my hobby and my life!

So no new official new starts everyday of January but I will be posting. I have so many awesome new projects. I was spoiled ROTTEN for Christmas from my Mom and my hubby. They got me projects I just can't wait to start. So I will show off my projects I will be starting. Just maybe not starting that day of January. I hope you enjoy my blog. I know I enjoy my blog. I look forward to keeping up with several of you lovely bloggers too. I can't wait to see what wonderful projects will be getting working on. I enjoy cheering you along and I enjoy reading your wonderful compliments and comments on my pieces. I had a very Merry Christmas and oh I hope you did too. I wish for all of us a stress free 2017!

Great idea and glad you still have your stitching bug. I'm not going to do the starts either. I have about 50 WIPs and that number needs to go down, not up!

Good plan. Our stitching is supposed to be a hobby, not a job. Looking forward to seeing your posts.

Good luck with your new starts. I stopped participating in SALs two years back as I could not keep up with many WIPs but I did enjoyed seeing progress of my blogger friends. Also, since I do crochet as well so I cannot keep too many WIPs.

Hear! Hear! I don't play well with plans anyway... so doing what I want, when I want, definitely works for me, and I enjoy it more that way! Hope it is the same for you! I am sure you will be as busy, just not stressed about deadlines. May you and yours have peace in the New Year! Hugs!

Good for you! I participated in the Crazy January Challenge in 2014 and 2015 for only 15 days each time and found it very stressful. I like new start but then I want to continue working on them for more than a day.
Here's to less stress in your life! Glad to hear you were spoiled at Christmas and can't wait to see your stitching goodies.

That's one of the best plans that you can have for your hobby (just my opinion). It should never be stressful but just cause joy and pleasure.
So wonderful to read that you received such a lot of stitchy gifts. Enjoy them all and start them whenever you want to.

Well I don't blame you sweetie!!! It is fun to start something every day but after a while I found it stressing as you feel obliged to keep up.... and I only did this once for 15days!! Stitching is your hobby, do whatever you want :) we will always come back and read your blog ;)
