Spring Retreat

This past weekend was the Hoosier Stitchers Spring Retreat. As I mentioned in my Camping post Jeremiah got pretty sick. Wednesday I got everything packed up and was really trying to get excited. Wednesday Jeremiah just laid on the couch and rested the whole day pretty much. He had high fever on and off but Wednesday evening developed a cough. Thursday morning we loaded everything all up and took me down to a friend's house cause she was nice enough to drive to the retreat. Unfortunately after I left Jeremiah's health really went downhill. Poor guy got worse and worse until Friday night my mom decided to take him to the ER. I had a very emotional time staying at retreat and not being here where I thought I should be but Jeremiah demanded I stay and have fun. I know it would have made him feel horrible to "ruin" my time so I just kept calling every now and then to get updates and I made myself have fun so now to the fun part.

I got a TON of stitching done! We stopped on the way to shop at a cross stitch store in Bloomington Indiana called Fancy Works. It's a very nice store and I always enjoy stopping there. The owner of the store is the host of our retreat. I bought a few things that just had to follow me home of course haha. Then we got to retreat. I quickly changed into pj pants and announced Let the Relaxing Begin.

I decided to work on HAED Severeielle which I have renamed Dragon Lady cause it's easier to spell haha.

Here is my before retreat photo...

Thursday I only managed to get 400 stitches in. Friday I got 1,100 stitches in. Saturday 1,200! Sunday only 200 cause of having to pack up and hit the road. Here is my after picture...

I LOVE when I finally got to the details of the hair. The purple blobs was kind of getting boring haha. For those who stitch we call making a mistake Frogging. For those that don't know why cause you Rip Rip the stitches which sounds like Ribbit Ribbit so it gets nicknamed frogging. It stormed really bad on Friday night and I kept looking out the door right by me to watch the storm when I saw this visitor...

We ended up with 4 on this door and several others on the other doors around our room. They loved the bugs that landed on the door cause of the lighting inside. They were adorable. Of course I had to get pictures for Jeremiah.

So I had a really great time. Jeremiah ended up being diagnosed with an Upper Respiratory Infection and was given an antibiotic and Tylenol with codeine. He's resting and doing a lot better. I was so happy to get home and give him some much deserved hugs. I'm glad I raised him to be so kind and to understand my love of stitching. I'm thankful for the great family I had at home to take care of him in my absence.

Wow, that stitching is coming along! I have seen you stitch on HAEDs and you do magnificent work, OVER ONE,! Are you doing this one the same?

I know how you felt being away from Jeremiah; I was the same way in Branson being 1700 miles away from Butch who had had his knee replaced.

Those frogs are amazing! LOL

Love the blog!

Sue

Man..all these stitching retreats I see people blog about!! Apparently Florida isn't a popular stitching spot or something...nothing to go to around here!

Oh my goodness..I really hope Jeremiah is feeling better now? I don't know how you stayed away from him...but good for him for wanting you to stay there...such an adult thing to do!

Girl...you got a TON done on dragon lady!
