My IHSW Weekend

What a wonderful weekend for my IHSW. I didn't hermit really. I attended my local stitching retreat. I arrived in the early afternoon Thursday. 3 other ladies and me went to House of Stitches. I just LOVE that store and never have a problem finding things that just have to follow me home. Mom sent me with some money to spend for Christmas. So I won't show you my new goodies until I officially receive them. I showed her and told her she was a fantastic shopper of course haha.

After shopping we headed back to the cabin and didn't leave until Sunday. The place is called Camp Ray Bird and is a church camp type of setting. We have a large cabin with bunk beds. It's so much fun. We had 19 women attending this time. We take turns doing the meals in the HUGE industrial kitchen. The food was delicious and I ate way too much. Other than that we stitch. I didn't get much sleep at all. I just stitched and laughed and laughed a lot more. Here is the table I sat at...
I decided to start something new. I started my White Willow Tribal Santa Hat. I really enjoyed working on it over the weekend. Here is how far I got after the entire time...
We all really enjoyed the laugh at the fact I am yet again a Ho. I kept saying I need another piece to get to this point and I can finish them and have Ho Ho Ho. I'm happy with my progress on it. I just love the motifs. We all joked about it being like one of those ink blot tests.

Saturday night we started hearing how bad the weather was supposed to be for Sunday. Since I drove (which is something I hate doing). I decided to wake up and hit the road quickly on Sunday. The weather just kept sounding worse and worse. I did hit some rain and a lot of wind but when I got home I hadn't even sat down before the weather radio alerts started. We had 11 confirmed tornadoes in my state yesterday as of right now. Luckily we didn't have any damage here but I am so glad I got home when I did. It was still a wonderful retreat and I had a fantastic time. What a wonderful way to spend my IHSW! Hope you got lots of stitching in too.
