Advent Blog Hop

Today I'm participating in my first Blog Hop. It's hosted by Serendipitous Stitching. This is the Advent Calendar Blog Hop and I'm hopping along everyday and seeing some new blogs. Today is the 7th so it's my turn.

If you hopped by my blog let me tell you who I am. I'm a 35 year old stay at home mom. I'm lucky enough to be happily married. I'm also very happy to be a mom of a great 16 year who's my life. I started home schooling him when he was in the 3rd grade and we've been having fun ever since. We just love life! I love cross stitching and I've been doing it for 17 years. I love several different designers and work on everything and anything. Of course I'm a HAED (Heaven and Earth Designs) addict.

Now let's go to the blog hop part. We were asked to post some Christmassy stitching. Here is my favorite Christmassy piece...
This is really frustrating though cause I didn't write down the info on it. I know it was out of a magazine. My friend was working on it and I just HAD to do it too. Sorry I can't give more info on it. I have several other too that I really like...
I love bright colors and boy stitching for Christmas is always bright colors. The other thing we are supposed to write about is our best ever present. This one is impossible cause I'm spoiled rotten. But I finally came up with one.

My mother did a treasure hunt for my last big gift. She put so much work into it. I had a clue and it lead to the next clue and so on. I was about 11 or 12 years old. It was just her and me in an apartment together. My hunt lead down to a little closet and I opened the door to find a little puppy. I was so excited! Then I remember saying Um Mom when did you buy her? How long had she been shut in the closet? LOL We were talking about it yesterday and the funniest thing is she really can't remember how she got in the closet either. We assume my dad brought her over Christmas morning so the surprise could happen. I've been so lucky to have received so many gifts throughout the years that I can just smile when thinking of Christmas and all the memories. I hope everyone reading this has lots of great memories from years past and plan to make this year. Thanks for hopping by.

Your stitching is lovely and colorful!!:) I also love colorful and bright things. That was surely a great gift and I can imagine your joy in finding your treasure. I had done a treasure hunt for my daughter's 10 th Birthday, the only difference being that she got 10 gifts placed with some of the clues.
